Welcome back to a new school year at Jane Long Elementary! I hope this letter finds you refreshed and ready for the exciting times ahead. As we embark on this journey together, I am filled with anticipation and enthusiasm for the opportunities that await our students.

This year, our school theme is "Focus on the Sweet Things," reminding us to cherish the moments of growth, learning, and community that make Jane Long such a special place. ¡Bienvenidos de nuevo a un nuevo año escolar en Jane Long Elementary ! Espero que esta carta les encuentre renovados y listos para los emocionantes tiempos que nos esperan. Al iniciar este viaje juntos, me embarga la anticipación y el entusiasmo por las oportunidades que esperan a nuestros estudiantes.

Este año, nuestro tema escolar es "Enfoquémonos en las Cosas Dulces", recordándonos valorar los momentos de crecimiento, aprendizaje y comunidad que hacen de Jane Long Elementary un lugar tan especial. Creo sinceramente que al enfocarnos en los aspectos positivos de la educación, podemos crear un ambiente donde cada niño pueda prosperar.

Estoy comprometido/a a colaborar con ustedes para asegurar que este año escolar sea un éxito rotundo para su hijo/a. La educación es un esfuerzo colaborativo y su participación es invaluable. Click the link to order your child's spirit t-shirt for the 24-25 school year. Put in front office for teacher name and we will make sure your student receives their t-shirts.

• Lamar CISD was recently named a hypergrowth district, which requires significant planning to ensure our schools remain a great place to learn, and our students get the best education available. For the 2024-2025 school year, and in alignment with our mission to remain a destination District, Lamar CISD is moving from Smart Tag to Tyler Technologies Versatrans My Stop ™ (My Stop).

  This change will require all parents/guardians to complete a Transportation Form. We are requesting this form to be filled out for all current and new students including bus riders, car riders, bike riders, and/or walkers.

  It’s especially important that students who ride the bus complete this Transportation Form so they can receive bus services at the start of the school year.

  The new transportation software will provide a smoother experience for our drivers, which increases the safety of our students. Additionally, My Stop will provide a parent portal, student rider onboarding, and student rider location.

  To plan accordingly for your student, please review a list of important dates below:

  • Sunday, August 4: Deadline to submit Transportation Form for students who want to receive bus transportation on the first day of school (Monday, August 12).
  • Monday, August 5 – Wednesday, August 21: During this time, if families fill out the Transportation Form requesting bus transportation for a student, the student will start receiving bus transportation on Monday, August 26.
  • Thursday, August 22 and beyond: During this time, if families fill out the Transportation Form requesting bus transportation for a student, the student will start receiving bus transportation five school days after the form is submitted.

Beginning-of-Year Forms (BOYF) inside of Skyward will open for all families on Monday, July 29th and close on Friday, September 13th.

Dear Parents/Guardians,

For the 2024-25 school year, all required Lamar Consolidated ISD beginning-of-year forms must be completed online through the Skyward Family Access Center.

Online forms are available through the Family Access Center starting July 29th and all forms need to be submitted no later than Sept. 13th. Your student’s schedule will not be available online through the Family Access Center until all of the beginning-of-year forms are completed for your student and after the campus has released schedules. Student schedules will be available online on Wednesday, Aug. 07th, if all online forms have been completed.

For those who need access to a computer or the Internet, computers will be available on campus Monday – Thursday, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. starting July 30th.

Jane Long Elementary would love to partner with our parents and community to serve our students in a multitude of ways. We often say, "Those who can, Do but those who can do more, volunteer!" It's important to review and update the volunteer application regularly to ensure it meets current safety standards and legal requirements. This process helps to create a safe and supportive environment for both volunteers and the children they interact with.
