HEAD CHECK & SKIN CHECK
Salish Coast Families,
There are several conditions in our community and school that may present with a rash.
Please check your student's skin for any red spots. Please keep students with an unexplained rash at home and monitor for fever and other signs of illness.
In addition, Jefferson County Public Health recommends that you:
1) consult with a provider to confirm diagnosis (with a lab test for varicella if possible), and
2) ensure that any pregnant people in the same household consult their primary care providers.
Students must be fever-free for 24hrs and spots must be crusted over or cleared by a doctor to return.
In addition, please check your student's hair for lice and treat if necessary. Students can return to school when there are no live lice.

Your child should be up to date by the first day of school on immunizations.
Preschool: 4 year old boosters required if student will be 4 on 9/1.
Kindergarten: 4 year old boosters required.
Age 9: While not required, HPV vaccination is now recommended for children starting at age 9.
Schedule an appointment with your medical provider or Jefferson County Public Health (immunization clinics Tuesdays 1-4pm, 360-385-9400) over the summer!
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me, Nurse Merilee, with questions.
