Hello San Jac Families!
We have had an incredible first several days of school! We know this is just the start to what will be an absolutely fantastic school year! It has been a great joy to see our student's smiling faces transition in the halls, hang out with friends at lunch, and show off their athleticism and creativity in PE and Specials. And to know we have only been at it for four days makes us all excited for what is in store!
Please take the time to review the information in the newsletter as there are several details pertaining to our day to day and may answer questions that your may have. There is also a calendar of upcoming events to help you plan ahead for all the things taking place on campus.
Know that we are super excited to work alongside you this school year as we are aiming for greatness in all that we do! Should you ever have questions, suggestions, or concerns please let us know.

Early Arrival at San Jacinto
As you know, we offer early arrival for our students beginning at 7:00 am each day. Please be advised that while early arrival is open to all students, it is best for those students who have the ability to have some level of independence during that time. There is staff supervision for students eating breakfast in the cafeteria, however, it is not the students normal homeroom teachers since the teacher's day does not begin until 7:30 am. Early arrival is something we want you to take full advantage of, however it may not be best for our littlest Suns or our Suns who may not be quite to independence level. We ask that parents and caregivers make the call on what they believe is best, however feel free to reach out to your child's teacher for guidance. Also, our front office does not open until 7:30 am each day. Early arrival is only for those parents who are wanting to drop their students off to get ahead of the traffic and ensure timely attendance. If you are needing to speak with someone at the front office, you may do so each day beginning at 7:30 am.
Changes to Free Breakfast
For the 2024-2025 school, San Jacinto is no longer identified as a campus who offers free breakfast. According to state law, campuses must be at 80% SES to qualify for free breakfast for all students. San Jacinto is currently at 77% SES so we just fell out as a qualifier. Please accept my apologies for the miscommunication. If students have been identified to pay for lunch they will also need to pay for breakfast. Any students receiving free lunch will automatically receive free breakfast. Please contact us with any questions or concerns.
Lunch Visitors
Early Check Out
If you are seeking to check out students early, please be sure to do so prior to 2:30 pm. Also, any transportation changes will need to take place before 2:30 pm as well. This can be done by calling the campus at 281-465-7700 and speaking to our receptionist, Ms. Martha Rodriguez. Should you have questions, please let us know.
End of Day Dismissal
Parents/Caregivers this is a reminder that we dismiss each day at 3:10 pm. Please make every effort to arrive at or before that time to ensure all students are picked up no later than 3:30 pm. We greatly appreciate your support with this.
School Hours 2024-2025
This year we have a slight change in our school hours. Our instructional hours are now 7:55 am-3:10 pm. We will still open our doors to students beginning at 7:00 am to allow our families a longer drop off window. Another exciting change is we will also begin serving breakfast at 7:00 am! Please take advantage of our early drop off window. We will have staff members here ready to receive our Suns each day!
