Seventh grader, Ellerby Boan, won the "I Voted" Sticker Contest design for Georgetown County! She was honored at the Wooden Boat Show this past weekend and her design will be at the early voting locations. We are so proud of Ellerby! Way to go!

Thank you so much to all of our community members who volunteered their time on Wednesday for our Career Day. Our students thoroughly enjoyed learning about various fields of interest. There was definitely something for everyone!

Time is running out to purchase books from our online book fair! The last day to order is Thursday, October 31st. Remember that this is a fundraiser for our school's library. 20% of all sales come back to our library and will be used to purchase curriculum related materials to assist in your student's learning. Have your child create a wish list and share it with family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers. It's a WIN-WIN for everyone!

Remember that all books ship free to the school and will be delivered to your child when they arrive. If you are ordering for the holidays or as a surprise, simply email radams@gcsd.k12.sc.us and we'll hold your books until you can pick them up at your convenience.

We've just started our 2nd Beanstack challenge, the Clemson/Carolina Reading Challenge and our Warriors are ready for competition! Students need to log their reading minutes (in school and at home) into Beanstack. If they read 300 minutes by November 20th, not only will they complete the challenge but they will also get to place a football on the team bulletin board for either Clemson or Carolina. Who will win this in-state rivalry for WMS? Will it be Clemson or will it be Carolina?

For those students who complete the reading challenge, we would love to be able to send them into The Big Game weekend with some Clemson and Carolina swag. If you are willing to donate any items to represent either team as raffle prizes, we would greatly appreciate it. Items could range from team pencils and notebooks, cups, blankets, pennants, footballs, etc. If you are willing to donate any items by November 15th and have any questions, please reach out to radams@gcsd.k12.sc.us or choppe@gcsd.k12.sc.us.

We're in the home stretch of our annual World’s Finest Chocolate Fundraiser! Let's finish strong by selling the remaining bars from the last box your received. Remember that each box you sell enters you into a raffle for our Grand Prize Gift Card Raffle AND the winner of our sales competition will be awarded $100. If you sell just one box of WFC Chocolate – you will be invited to our Warriors Celebration on November 15th, where we will have popcorn, treats and prizes! We’ve also hidden 15 Golden Tickets in random boxes – which can be redeemed by the seller for prizes or a ONE POUND bar of chocolate! Students are encouraged to have supervision while selling WFC and no sales may take place on campus during school hours. The proceeds from this fundraiser support our schoolwide activities and student incentive programs. Any questions – please contact Mr. Meyer.

Registration to receive a toy from the Toys for Tots campaign ends at midnight on Monday, November 14th. A parent or guardian must apply. You will be notified through email as to when and where to pick up the toy, and you will need to show identification. Applications are accepted for children up to age 12.
