Good afternoon parents! This is Mrs. Traumuller, the Proud Morehead Principal, with the weekly reminders and updates!
A shout out to all of the families that came to our second Morehead Mingle hosted by our fabulous PTA! We had a great turn out and appreciate all of the love and support that our families show to our beautiful school.
This week is again another busy one and one that we are looking forward to sharing with our community. We kick off the week with the start of our PBIS SPIRIT WEEK. All of the daily events have been detailed in the flyer both on Class Dojo and also below on this week's edition. The students will end the week with a PepRally to get us kicked off exercising all of our pillars of PBIS: Integrity, Responsibility, Trying our Best, and Kindness. For our 3rd through 5th grade students who applied to Arts Academy, Arts Academy will begin on Monday. Parents, please make sure to adhere to the specifics detailed at the parent meeting for pickup. These steps are in place to ensure safety of our students.
We will also extend our book fair until 12:30 on Monday so that classes that missed their shopping time as well as students who wanted to shop can have the opportunity to shop once more. We will have to begin packing it all back up for pickup immediately following the closure at 12:30. On Tuesday afternoon, beginning at 3pm, we will have our monthly School Based Leadership Team meeting. This will be a hybrid meeting that you can attend both in person in our media or via the TEAMS Meeting link on our website. CLICK HERE FOR THE LINK On Thursday, our third grade students will travel to the zoo for their first field trip of the year. This trip coincides beautifully with what they have been learning and researching in their ELA unit. We will also have a PTA planning meeting on Thursday night at 6:00pm that is always held virtually. This Saturday, we will welcome in October and Fall with a Women's Wellness Walk from Morehead Elementary to West Over Church. They are hosting their Fall Festival and it is 100% free for our families to attend and such a great time to bond with family and friends. Looking at next week, we have picture day scheduled for October 9th. The information for ordering is already on our website on the second slide as well as paper copies coming home in Monday folders.
