Broad Run's Newsletter May/June 2024
Principal's Message
Spartans,
Summer is upon us, and we are finalizing plans for the 24-25 school year. Please be sure if you are returning to Broad Run High School you have the right courses selected. You should be able to see your student schedule on or about August 12. Look for an email from me in early August with more information.
I would like to congratulate the class of 2024. As we celebrate you at graduation on June 15, we also thank you for your contribution to Broad Run through the years. Having school in hybrid with masks your ninth-grade year was a huge challenge--one that you overcame together, and we are proud of you. Please stay in touch.
Please consider joining the PTSO and attending our meetings on the second Monday of each month.
Have a good summer.
David Spage, Principal
Broad Run High School

Broad Run Freshmen Illustrate the Bard with PEEPS
It all started back in 2012 when Romeo, a blue bunny and Juliet, a pink chick, danced under a balloon arch at their Homecoming Dance in "Pucker Up Peepiet," the very first diorama to win the annual class challenge for five classes of Broad Run ninth graders. Since then, the peeps have been spotted in the most amazing places like the PeeperBowl, an episode of Stranger Peeps, and atop a Mardi Gras Float in NOLA on Peep Tuesday.
Inspired by the Washington Post Magazine competition, students in Ms. Michele Evans' English 9 classes continue to demonstrate their knowledge of William Shakespeare's tragedy Romeo and Juliet by designing and creating dioramas of important scenes. They had 90 minutes to put together these creative works of art judged by faculty volunteers.
