Dear Longmont Estates students and families,

Thank you for your partnership and supporting the academic growth, safety, and well-being of our students. Every year, St. Vrain Valley Schools prints an up-to-date version of the Code of Conduct for students and families to review. This important document guides students and school staff on what expectations for school conduct and the consequences for behaviors that fall outside of those expectations. It is important that families review this information every year and acknowledge their receipt and understanding of this document.

To this end, please click here to access an electronic version of the Code of Conduct for the current school year. After you have reviewed this information, all families must sign an electronic acknowledgement that they have received, read, and understand the information contained, including the Annual Notification to Parents/Guardians; Behavioral Code of Conduct; Rights and Responsibilities of Students and Parents; and Board of Education Policies book. To sign your electronic acknowledgement, please follow the steps described here. Please complete this by Friday, September 13th.

For the safety of all students, staff, and visitors, we kindly remind families that bikes should not be ridden while on school property. Please walk your bike when entering and exiting the campus to help ensure a safe environment for everyone. Thank you for your cooperation!

We are required to verify absences that are not reported. Please help us with this requirement by notifying us as soon as possible so that we do not have to bother you at home or at work.

The iPad Damage Optional Insurance program is designed to help offset the costs of a lost or damaged iPad to families. If you choose to not participate in this program, you will be responsible for the full cost of replacement or repair as outlined in Board Policy JQ-R.

The LTP Student iPad Insurance window for the 2024-2025 school year opens August 1st and closes on September 15th. Parents who wish to join the insurance pool for this year will need to make at least a partial payment within this window.

Hearing and Vision screening will be taking place on Thursday, September 12th. Please remember to bring your glasses or wear your contact lenses.

Vision and Hearing Screenings are vital to ensure your child has the visual and hearing skills necessary to perform well in school.

Please keep in mind that these screenings do not serve as a substitute for comprehensive exams by your child’s healthcare provider. Routine eye exams are important —regardless of age or physical health.

If your child requires follow-up vision or hearing testing, you will receive a letter with your child’s screening results.

The Longmont Estates Jog-a-thon is an exciting and energizing fundraiser that allows kids to be physically fit while raising money for the school. Donations are spent on PARAs (teacher aides) in the classroom, assemblies, Innovation Fair, Field Trips, Conference Meals and so much more!

Jog-a-thon packets will be coming home today. Please look for the envelope and start raising donations. Our goal is to collect $25,000 this year. Donations are due back at the school the day of Jog-a-thon which will be Friday, September 27th this year. Thank you for your involvement and support in helping your student reach the goal. Elementary material fees will be maintained by LEE to purchase school specific nonstandard classroom materials such as school planners, word books and writing paper. Because items purchased with materials fees are for both individual student and group use, the fees will be pooled and deposited for use in an account at LEE.

This fee will be assessed on September 16, 2024, and due by October 14, 2024. The $10 fee may be paid by check made out to LEE, cash or by clicking here.

The all-important October Count Day is Wednesday, October 2nd. It is very important that we account for every child who attends Longmont Estates so that we can receive the correct amount of state funding. If your child has an appointment that day, please make sure to be present before/after the appointment if at all possible so that your child can be counted. Let's try to have 100% attendance that day! REMINDER: There is no Late Start in October!

• The dates for this year's Town Hall meetings and location information can be found here. These meetings are open forums for Dr. Haddad and other district leaders to listen to our community’s questions and suggestions, share our many successes, and discuss our bold vision for the future.

It's that time of the year again! Our kids are getting sick. If you are not sure when you should keep your child home, please refer to these guidelines to help you decide. If you have questions, please contact our Health Clerk, Alyssa Redmore, at redmore_alyssa@svvsd.org or 720-652-8101.

Each year, schools in St. Vrain Valley School District complete a process to identify students who demonstrate exceptional ability or performance in one or more academic and/or talent areas and may, therefore, qualify for Gifted/Talented educational services. These students usually perform at least two years above grade level in their strength area(s), and they require additional academic challenges in order to support their continued educational growth and progress. In addition, they usually demonstrate characteristics of unique creativity and high motivation in their strength areas.

Referrals are open through the month of September and will close on the last day of the month. Referrals after that date will be addressed on a case by case basis. Completing a referral guarantees a review of the student profile to determine if testing is recommended for the student. The process for identification requires a body of evidence and often takes place throughout the school year.

The process takes approximately 5-10 minutes to complete.
