District 103
School Board Highlights
May 7, 2024
Teacher Appreciation Recognition
The Board of Education thanked teachers for their dedication and commitment to educating D103 students during Teacher Appreciation Week.
Retirees and Years of Service
The Board of Education and Dr. Scott Warren, Superintendent, recognized and thanked retirees and staff for their many years of service to District 103. Dr. Warren mentioned that the more than 35 staff members being recognized collectively represent 623 years of experience in our district.
Resolution On Opening Schools Not Used as Polling Places
The Board would like to recommend a resolution to the Illinois Association of School Boards to support legislation that school districts should not be mandated to close on Election Day if the schools do not serve as polling places. District 103 schools are not used as polling places and could stay open if the legislation was changed.
Student Engagement at Board Meetings
The Board is researching the idea of including student voices as part of its school board meetings. Board members will survey and review what other school districts do to have students provide ideas regarding various board agenda topics.
Board of Education Meeting
The next Board of Education meeting will occur at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 21. The notice and agenda can be found on the District 103 Board meeting website page. D103 board meetings will be live-streamed each month on our YouTube Channel. For student awards, please attend the meeting at Daniel Wright Junior High School, 1370 N. Riverwoods Rd., Lincolnshire.
