Student Vehicle Drop-Off Procedures
Thank you for the success of the student drop-off line. The area around the school is much safer.
However, please be mindful to stop at all stop signs. The Bedford Park Police Department has received many calls from residents about vehicles not stopping at all stop signs. They have communicated to me that citations will be given if a driver fails to come to a complete stop.

Notes from the Nurse
Hello Walker families! Please take a look for some important updates.
Hearing and vision screenings took place at Walker on September 19th and October 4th. Students who did not pass a screening will be sent home with a hearing and/or vision referral. I ask that you follow up with the appropriate physician as soon as possible and return medical documents. If you did not receive a referral, your student passed their screenings, and further action is not needed.
The state of IL exclusion deadline is October 15th for all students who are not compliant with their physical and/or immunizations. Students without these items will be excluded from school beginning on this date. If you have not been notified, your student is considered compliant with these requirements.
Dental day will be February 20th at Walker school. Sign up today for a free dental exam that fulfills the kindergarten, second and sixth grade registration requirement. If your student is currently in first and fifth grade, sign up now to get ahead for the next school year. Return the permission form or use the QR code that is attached.
Cold and flu season is here, and temperatures will begin to drop soon. Please make sure your student is appropriately dressed for the weather as students go outside for recess and PE. Also, refer to the attachment of when to keep your student home when ill.
Please call Walker’s main office with any questions, 708-458-7150.

Social Work Corner
Social Emotional Learning at Walker
This week at Walker, students are building connections through Benchmark during ELA instruction time! In Kindergarten, we discussed how parents contribute to their children's lives and connected to a text about a mama bear. In third grade, we discussed animals that camouflage, such as the Artic Fox, Camel, and Cheetah, based on readings in class and discussed the idea of fitting in versus standing out. The conversation helped students connect informational texts to their lives!
Mr. Birden is thrilled to work with your children! Please do not hesitate to reach out if you need anything! pbirden@sd104.us
