The Husky's Howl Week 6
October 4, 2024
Principal's Message
As we wrapped up our Power Up with Husky P.R.I.D.E. lessons, your students learned about important character traits like being a problem solver, being respectful, and showing inclusiveness. Each day brought new activities and discussions to help students reflect on how they can demonstrate these traits at school and beyond.
To continue these valuable conversations at home, we encourage you to ask your children about what they learned each day. Some questions you might ask include:
- "Can you tell me about a time you solved a problem this week?"
- "How do you show respect to others?"
- "What does it mean to be inclusive, and how can we practice that as a family?"
Even though the Fun Run has come to an end, our fundraising efforts continue! The deadline to turn in donations is October 11. You can help your child get involved by encouraging them to reach out to family and friends. Some ideas include:
- Making phone calls or sending messages to relatives to explain the purpose of the fundraiser.
- Sharing their excitement about how they participated in the Fun Run and what it means for their school.
- Setting a small goal together and celebrating when they reach it!
Every contribution supports our students and helps us meet our goals for the year. Thank you for your continued support and for being part of this exciting journey with us!

Table Talk: Spark Meaningful School Conversations
We know that asking "How was school?" often leads to short responses like "fine," "good," or "I don't know." Try these conversation starters to dig deeper and learn more about your child's day:
- What was the most interesting thing you learned today?
- Did you try something new at recess or in class?
- Tell me about a moment today when you felt proud.
- Was there a part of your day that felt challenging?
- Who did you spend time with at lunch or recess, and what did you talk about?
