Character...
Happy Friday, Everyone!
It was another great week at GWMS as we put our focus on character and started our week with this quote from legendary college basketball Coach John Wooden:
"Be more concerned with your character than your reputation, because you character is what you really are, while your reputation is merely what people think you are."
It's hard to believe we completed the first week of September, but we have so much to be proud of. We’ve had an amazing week filled with fun activities, inspiring moments, and incredible achievements. From a thrilling cross country race to the creative projects in art class, our students and teachers have truly shined.
We hope you have a safe and relaxing weekend!

Reminders
Bus Riders: Students should do their very best to remember the bus # associated with their GWMS route. This will be SUPER helpful as we work to get students back on the bus at the end of the day. If you have any questions, please call our office, or check Skyward Family Access.
Spirit Wear Fridays: We are encouraging all students and staff to "get into the Patriot spirit" on Fridays. Students may wear any GWMS Spirit shirts/sweatshirts every Friday. Need new gear?

Cell Phones and Devices (Reminder)
Digital Mobile Devices are not permitted in learning environments. Devices must remain powered down and in locker/out of site during class time.
Recent research and feedback from our staff reaffirm that personal mobile devices, while beneficial in some contexts, often serve as distractions during instructional time. At GWMS we provide each student with a District issued Chromebook, ensuring they have the necessary technology for educational purposes without needing personal mobile devices in the classroom. Our goal is to help students develop responsible digital habits that will benefit them academically and personally.
Our top priorities are to minimize distractions in the classroom and help students learn to self-regulate their use of digital devices. Clear guidelines and consistent enforcement will support students in developing responsible digital habits.
As parents and guardians, your support is crucial. Please encourage your children to follow these guidelines and talk about the importance of being present and engaged in their learning experiences. By working together, we can ensure that GWMS remains a place for focused learning and meaningful connections. Thank you for your continued support and partnership in creating a positive educational environment for our students.
