Jessee Clements, Secondary Curriculum Director, will be leading the Diversity Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Committee for this school year. The first meeting will be on Tuesday, October 8th at 3:45 at the BIS Library.

The first meeting agenda will include:

• Setting meeting dates
• Supporting the Bourne Celebrates Everyone event on Nov 7th
  
• Book Club
• Goal-setting for the year
• Any other thoughts/ideas from the group

September 9th Challenge

Bournedale elementary is proud to offer a variety of supportive programs to our families. This year as we transition into the new school year, we welcome many new faces into our school community. We are starting off with our backpack program.

The backpack program provides families with food to supplement on the weekends while school is not in session. Families will receive a weekly food backpack on the bus with their student or at parent pick-up. The backpack will need to be returned each week with your child to be refilled with food.

If your family would like to be a recipient of the backpack program please fill out our online form or return this slip with the following information to school.

Hello and welcome to our students! Please reach out to me with any medical questions or concerns you have for your child. I look forward to working with all my returning friends, and new ones!

Clothing Donations: We are always in need of joggers size 5t-10/12. If you want to pass anything along for us to use in the health office. Also your child can keep a spare outfit in their cubby in class as well.

Updated Records: As I review health records, I will reach out if I need any updated immunization records or physicals. Feel free to send me any of these to my email: resip@bourneps.org or fax to school at 508-743-3801.

Physical Literacy–Move to Learn!!

Physical literacy is essential for elementary school students as it not only helps them develop fundamental motor skills like running, jumping, and throwing but also fosters a love for physical activity. Physical literacy enhances a child’s self-confidence and social interaction which helps to contribute to a well-rounded and confident individual. Physical literacy enhances students’ cognitive development, fostering improved concentration, problem-solving skills, and overall academic performance.
