Hungate Echo
Spring Term 1, Week 4
A word from Mr Broom
Young Voices week is always an incredible week for the children and staff involved, and it was as good as ever. For those of you who attended the event at Sheffield Arena, you'll have noticed the staff having a whale of a time too. They really do go for it!
Meanwhile, the curriculum rolled into the fourth week of our learning journeys, and you will see from Class Dojo posts, that the children have had an amazing range of experiences.
Governors met on Thursday evening and we talked about the amazing progress of each class in the weeks building up to the end of Autumn Term. We're really looking forward to seeing the progress made over the Spring Term.
Have a super weekend everyone.

Following on from feedback we have received, this year we have also introduced CHOCOLATE bags!!
Being mindful of spend etc, we have balanced the size of the bags of sweets and the bags of chocolates so that the overall spend remains the same too!
All monies made through putting on the disco for our children to enjoy, go straight back into the school and help fund initiatives for our children & families!
Thank you also to all members of the PFA who dedicate any spare time on a voluntary basis to create wonderful memories and fun for our kids!!
We are looking forward to seeing everyone there!!

KS2 Dinner Money
Thank you to all those parents that make regular payments for their children's dinner money either via Meal Selector or directly on ParentPay either weekly, monthly or as and when.
If you forget to pay regularly and pay by direct transfer (Direct Debit) you can use the automatic top-up on ParentPay, you can pick the amount you want to top up when the balance is low.
Unfortunately we have currently got 25 accounts in arrears, some we are aware of the reasons, but please note that all meals should be paid for in advance preferably at the beginning of each week. We do text when the account goes into arrears and send reminders on Mondays and Fridays if still in debt, but we are seeing some increasingly large debts. Please, if you are unable to pay because of problems with ParentPay or are struggling financially, please do advise someone in the office and we will help where we can.
It may be that you can apply for Free School Meals and no longer have that burden. Please click on https://www.northyorks.gov.uk/free-school-meals if you receive benefits and think you might be eligible, it doesn't cost anything and you could also get logoed school uniform vouchers.
We hope you are able to clear all the outstanding debts by half term and then keep them in credit, but please do speak to us with any problems. Thank you
Staff Shoutouts
Staff shoutouts are back for 24-25 and there's no better way of helping to keep our staff morale high than letting them know how you think.
Happy Staff + Happy Children = Happy Family.
If you can spare a minute or two to let someone know how great they are, it would be much appreciated, especially at this challenging time for us all. Thank you.

Regular Items - Now Echo Regulars
Following feedback from our parent governors, we've updated the way that the weekly Hungate Echo works so that it is sharper with information you need. A new newsletter, known as the Echo Regulars will contain all the most important regular information that our families may need. It has a permanent home on our website at the link below. Here you will find community events, regular reminders and key information. When I update it, I'll put a short line at the bottom of the Hungate Echo to let you know.
