Taylors Falls Parents For Education
- Join us this coming Monday, October 28th for TFPFE Day at Jake's On The Lakes! Tell your server you're there to support Taylors Falls Elementary and Jake's will donate 10% of your pre-tax food bill back to our school!
- We have one more week for our 7th Annual No-Fuss Fundraiser, and we have quite a way to go to reach our goal! This is our main source of funding for the year, allowing us to provide classroom supplies, discount field trips, host student events, and so much more--we need your support to do this! There are three ways to donate: through our GoFundMe, via Venmo, and with cash or check sent to the office (checks payable to TFPFE, please). Students are still able to turn in their participation form for a prize, just let us know if you need another copy! You can access our digital materials here to share with family, friends, neighbors, and coworkers. You'll find information there about our Celebration Day as well--let's help our kiddos earn this fun opportunity!
- Big thank you to all who helped us fill hearts and bellies during our Fall Conference Dinners! We're working on our plans for winter conferences so please send us your ideas/suggestions and watch for our Sign-Up Genius in January!
- Check out the special BoxTop Bonuses for Halloween, and don't forget to scan your receipts!
Are you on our email list? Send us a message at tfpfe@isd2144.org to be added. No SPAM, we promise!
Halloween Sign In Procedures
We are expecting a lot of guests for our Halloween parade at 2:30 on Thursday October 31st, so our sign in procedures will look a little different:
- All parents and guardians should come into the school and sign in at the tables in the main lobby. We will have several lines based on where your name is in the alphabet so hopefully the line moves faster.
- When you sign in, you'll be asked if you will give your child a ride home at the end of the day.
- Please check out at the office as you leave.
- All guests who are not parents/guardians should enter the school and come to the office to sign in.
- If you have invited guests (grandparents, etc), please share this information with them so they know what to do.
- If you have invited someone who has not checked into our building before, please make sure they bring a driver's license with them.
Halloween
- TFE will be observing Halloween on Thursday, October 31st.
- We will have our annual progressive costume parade the afternoon of Halloween! Stay tuned for the time.
- Shopping for a Halloween costume? We want Halloween to be fun, not scary, and we have children as young as three in our school. Here are some guidelines we're asking you to observe so everybody can enjoy the day:
- No gore: Blood, guts, eyeballs hanging out, etc.
- Costumes should be in good taste and appropriate for our young school community.
- PLEASE don't send your child to school with an inappropriate costume. They will be required to change, and that's no fun for the student or Mr. Riebe!!
- No weapons of any kind should be brought to school- even fake weapons that are accessories to a costume (e.g. ninja swords, ray guns, battle axes, etc).
- No face paint or hair coloring spray- the custodians will already have a monumental cleaning task after the class parties!

"Mayor for a Day" Essay Contest
The League of Minnesota Cities is once again encouraging our state’s 4th, 5th, and 6th graders to share ideas about how they would make cities better through submitting essays in the League’s “Mayor for a Day” essay contest.
Contest information can be found at www.lmc.org/mayorforaday.
At least three winning students will be chosen from among submitted entries. Each winning student will receive $100 and will have their essay published in a future issue of Minnesota Cities magazine.
Jason Riebe, Principal
Mr. Riebe lives with his wife of twenty years and four children (all of whom attend/ed TF Elementary) in Taylors Falls. On a weekend, you'll find him doing pretty much anything outside: Fishing with the kids, hiking, hunting, camping, or tinkering with a new woodworking project in the garage. He's an avid Boundary Waters explorer, North Shore adventurer, ardent angler, and is fond of weekend experiments on his smoker.
Fun facts about Mr. Riebe
- His right eye is two different colors. This is called heterochromia!
- The only food he can't (and won't) eat is green peppers.
- In college, he worked in orphanages in Mexico and the Republic of Trinidad.
- He and his wife once hiked in the Andes Mountains in Peru for 6 days.
- He loves birds!
