Schoology Overview
I have a workbook you can use with the playlist of videos here and more, and areas for notes. You can access that workbook template here.
If you are entirely new to Schoology, check out "Getting Started on Schoology" or watch the video below until the 11:29 mark to learn see:

Materials: Folders
As you add your folders think about a particular color scheme that might work for your content. Folders not in use might be one color, and the folder for the week might in a unique color for example.
Think also about organizing by week or unit.
Be sure you either create all your work in Resources or copy it to Resources so you have it saved.
Learn more about Folders here
Materials: Assignments
Help keep students organized when you add an assignment, add a due date so that it appears in the student’s “Upcoming list”.
If students aren’t required to turn anything in on Schoology, be sure to disable submissions.Learn more about Assignments here.
Materials: Assessments
Check out this Guide to Tests/Quizzes and this Guide to Assessments.
Materials: Pages
Pages, like mini web pages, are a great way to deliver content to students. You can add images, video, gifs, embed presentations, documents or details.
Pages are really good for embedding videos to avoid all the comments and most of the ads.
Check out information about Pages here.
Materials: Discussion
Discussions are a great way to engage students in the content. You can make discussions graded or ungraded. Use it as formative assessment tool, or as a way to build community. You can insert media like images, gifs, or video for students to discuss.
You will want to establish community guidelines for discussions, especially for our younger students. Asking students to use professional language and limit the number of emojis, as well as keeping it positive are all things to consider.
Check out information about Discussions here.
