A Message from Principal Anita O'Neill
March 2, 2025
Dear Coyote Community,
Welcome to March! As we finally enter what should be an uninterrupted six-week stretch leading up to Spring Break, we have a great opportunity to settle into our second-semester rhythm—something that’s been challenging with all the weather disruptions. However, this time of year also brings the inevitable "March slump" that students and staff often feel. In my 29 years with MCPS, March has consistently been one of the most challenging months for everyone.
To keep spirits high and encourage timely attendance, we’re introducing a little friendly competition! Starting tomorrow, we’re launching a four-week "March Madness" attendance bracket, where classes will compete to achieve the best attendance, measured by the fewest tardies and unexcused absences. We’ll share results throughout the month—stay tuned! (See the flyer below for more details.)
A quick reminder that our Senior Family Meeting will be held March 6 at 7:00 PM via Zoom. [Link.] If you’re unable to attend, we’ll share the key details afterward so you don’t miss out on important information.
Finally, consider joining us Monday night for our Girls' Basketball Team's playoff game against Urbana. The game is 7:00 PM at CHS. Ticket sales go live today at 12:00 noon (see the PDF files below for the link).
Wishing you all a warm and wonderful week ahead!
Warm regards,
Ms. O’Neill
