Student Expectations
- Students are expected to have their IDs visible (lanyard, clip, or attached to a backpack) and also to have their chromebooks charged and ready to use during class time.
- It is important to use the five minute passing period to "travel" to the next class rather than be stationary and "visit" with friends. Tardies impact student attendance and also impact starting class on time.
- Being prepared for each class requires the following...
- Be on Time
- Follow Dress Code
- Visibly display Student ID (on a lanyard, clip, or attached to a backpack)
- Have a charged Chromebook to use during class
- Readiness to turn in the assignment, participation in classroom activities, and preparation for assessments and tests
- For Home Events and Away Events after the school day, students need to bring their Student IDs so that we can verify that you are a Santa Fe student who is allowed to attend the event.
- During lunch, students are not allowed in the auditorium lobby, fine arts hallway, or the Athletics Hallways near the two gyms.
- Junior and Senior students leaving campus for lunch should leave campus during the first five minutes of lunch and not hang out in the parking lot or other areas of campus. Upon returning from lunch, please re-enter the building and wait in the back hall area for the bell to ring for the next class.
Attending Athletic Events at Santa Fe High School
Please look at the attached slideshow prior to attending the football game this Friday vs. North. These same rules also apply to volleyball, softball, and all other sports events that take place at Santa Fe.
Parking Procedures
Students parking on campus should have a parking permit and should only park in designated areas allowed for student parking. Students parking in the staff/visitor south lot or in any other parking areas designated for staff, visitors, or handicapped will receive discipline consequences. No more warnings will be issued moving forward.
Advisory Time at Santa Fe
On Mondays and Fridays, there will be time allocated for school activity/group meetings as well as academic help in Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II.
On Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, there will be time allocated for academic help in any subject.
The weekly advisory list for academic help is created by teachers to add students who are either struggling academically or who need to make up missing work due to absence. If the student or parent wishes to have the student added to the academic help list, please contact the teacher for approval. A principal or counselor may also recommend a student for academic help as well as recommend which teacher to go to on which day for help (for students needing assistance in multiple classes).
The students attending group meetings or receiving academic help will be released at 10:05 (after 2nd Hour) to travel to their advisory location by 10:10 when the bell rings. Students not attending an advisory event will remain in 2nd Hour. For students making positive academic progress, we encourage you to use this 20 minute time period each day as a homework/study session for your classes. "Hanging out" in the hallways or restrooms is strictly prohibited from 10:10-10:30 each school day. At 10:30, the bell rings for all students to travel to 3rd Hour.
College/Career Fair on September 18th
Seniors Students,
On the afternoon of Wednesday, September 18th, we will have 50 colleges and universities visiting our campus for a college/career fair. This is an excellent time to learn about post-secondary opportunities just before college application season begins this fall. Seniors received a pre-registration link through email and also through their English classes. Seniors wanting to attend need to complete the pre-registration.
