A Message from Principal P
Dear CMS Families,
It was wonderful to see so many of you at Curriculum Night! We’re excited to announce that on Monday, we will be kicking off our community read of Ghost by Jason Reynolds. During WIN, all students will receive their own copy of the book, watch a PBS Book Trailer , and dive into the first chapter.
After reading Chapter 1, students will engage in meaningful discussions around these questions:
- Where is the place you feel you most belong?
- Who in your life supports you and makes you feel safe to be yourself?
- Can you think of a time when you found your voice? What were the circumstances, and who helped give you the courage to speak up?
Next week, students will continue reading Chapters 1-4 in their ELA classes.
We encourage you to join in by reading along at home and having conversations with your student about the book. We look forward to this shared reading experience!
Better Together,
Ms. P
