Message from Mrs. Wilkins, Warren Principal
Happy April Warren families,
We are entering my favorite time of the school year. Our students have hit their stride! Classroom routines are established, students are making meaningful connections with their learning experiences, and we have many engaging events, opportunities, and experiences planned until the end of the school year.
Our kindergarten students are writing and reading sentences and our fifth-grade students are scheduled to visit the middle school. I am so proud of our Warren scholars and their dedication to learning and being, “kind, honest, safe, respectful, and responsible.” A tootle (from a student) I read over the announcements the other day said, ‘To all: You are working hard. You should be proud of you. Keep being the best.’
Our student academic growth this school year has been ASTOUNDING. Our school-wide daily attendance average is 92% and our last parent teacher conference attendance was 98%.
This March, Mrs. Marshall, Mrs. Clark, and Mrs. Ozburn organized our first ever Kids College event (grades 2-5). 32 community members volunteered their time to share their passion or area of expertise with our students. Ask your child about their “Kids College” experience. Truly a remarkable experience for our students!
A friendly reminder all visitors must check-in at entry 1 if they are in the building. We have been teaching our students to kindly remind adults they must check-in at the office. We appreciate you adhering to our safety procedures.
Thank you for valuing education and for sharing your child/ren with us!
Warmly,
Mrs. Wilkins

A Note from Mrs. Ozburn - School Counselor
Happy Spring, Warren Families! For the next several weeks we will be focusing on making healthy choices. By empowering our children with these decision-making skills, we help them navigate challenges, build resilience, and foster a sense of autonomy. Here are some valuable insights and tips to guide you in this journey:
1. Foster Independence: Encourage your child to take initiative and make decisions appropriate to their age and developmental stage. Provide them with opportunities to practice making choices and support them as they learn from their experiences.
2. Teach Decision-Making Skills: Help your child develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills by involving them in decision-making processes. Encourage them to consider options, weigh pros and cons, and anticipate potential outcomes before making a choice.
3. Set Clear Expectations: Establish clear expectations and boundaries to guide your child's decision-making. Communicate your family values and rules effectively, and encourage open dialogue to address any questions or concerns your child may have.
4. Encourage Healthy Habits: Instill the importance of prioritizing health and well-being in your child's decision-making process. Teach them about the benefits of eating nutritious foods, staying active, getting enough sleep, and practicing good hygiene habits.
5. Promote Responsibility: Empower your child to take responsibility for their actions and the consequences that result from their choices. Encourage accountability and resilience by teaching them to learn from mistakes and take steps to rectify them.
6. Be a Positive Role Model: Lead by example and demonstrate good decision-making in your own life. Your actions speak louder than words, so strive to model behaviors that align with the values and principles you want to instill in your child.
7. Celebrate Successes: Celebrate your child's successes, no matter how small, and acknowledge their efforts in making positive choices. Positive reinforcement helps reinforce good behavior and encourages continued growth and development.
8. Stay Connected: Maintain open lines of communication with your child and actively listen to their thoughts, feelings, and concerns. Building a trusting relationship fosters a supportive environment where your child feels comfortable seeking guidance and support.
By nurturing your child's decision-making skills and fostering a supportive environment at home, you empower them to make choices that align with their values and goals. Together, let's equip our children with the tools they need to navigate life's challenges with confidence and resilience.
As always, please reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns!

MARCH LIBRARY
For 'Read Across America Month' in library, the students read stories from across regions of the country while adding each one to our map. It was great to see them trying something new and as you can see, we filled in the map!
This month in library 3rd-5th grades will be focusing on digital citizenship, using the internet and evaluating sources of information. The younger students will be learning how to log into and navigate a database to learn more about a topic. We will also continue to explore choosing and enjoying reading material.
