I want to let you know about an important improvement we’ve made to student and staff safety this year. We’ve deployed a new tool called Raptor. This makes it easier for our staff to set off an alert about a safety concern and quickly share that information with first responders and others in the building.
We work closely with Loveland Police and the Loveland-Symmes Fire Department and meet with them regularly to discuss safety. We have comprehensive safety plans for each building, and we review them regularly to look for ways to improve. Raptor will allow us to respond more quickly to an emergency and help us account for students and get them reunited with their families.

Loveland High School senior Josie Cooper has been selected to serve on the National Hope Squad Council. Hope Squad is a nationwide peer-to-peer mental well-being and suicide prevention program that has been part of Loveland City Schools for many years. As a member of the National Hope Squad Council, Josie will have an opportunity to collaborate with Hope Squad members from across the country, advocate for mental health awareness and suicide prevention, and help shape Hope Squad programming. Congratulations to Josie for being a great representative for Loveland City Schools!
LPS Art Teacher Kayla McClary is participating in NEST’s Dancing With The Stars fundraiser. NEST Community Learning Center is a Loveland-based non-profit that helps at-risk school-age children with their nutritional and educational needs. Kayla McClary is hoping to bring home all three Mirror Ball Awards during Dancing With The Stars by being the Top Fundraiser, Best Dancer, and having the Most Supporters attend the event.
