Your child's teacher will be reaching out by early next week with a conference sign up form. A few things to remember:

• You will have a choice between virtual or in person
• You will need to inform us if you need an interpreter
• Grades 3-5 will only meet with the homeroom teacher. The homeroom teacher will communicate progress in all content areas.
• We can only offer one conference per family.

Students will arrive between 7:50 AM-8:15 AM

Instruction starts at 8:20 AM (Students who arrive after 8:15 will be marked late.)

Dismissal will begin at 2:50 PM

Hearing and Vision Screening will take place at North Frederick Elementary School on Monday and Tuesday October 1st and 2nd, 2023 for all students in Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten (not previously screened in PRE-K), 1st grade and any new enterers to the Maryland public school system. Maryland State Law mandates this screening. Parents/guardians who have an objection to this screening must submit a request for their child to be exempt from screening. All written requests must be submitted to the health room by Tuesday, September 26th. Please make sure, if your child wears glasses or contacts that they have them with them on the screening days. If you have any questions, please contact the health room at 240-236-2010.

Scholastic Book Fair October 11-13th

We are excited to host the Fall Scholastic Book Fair on October 11th, 12th and 13th at the NFES Media Center. This event can only happen with your support! We greatly appreciate your time volunteering at our book fair one evening. You will receive a $10 scholastic reward that can be used on your book fair purchase.

Teacher Appreciation Dinner October 11th

The PTA is providing the main course of the staff's dinner on Wednesday, October 11th during parent-teacher conferences. We are looking for donations to help complete their meal.

Chipotle Restaurant Night in October

Our next PTA Restaurant Night is on October 2nd at the Worman’s Mill Chipotle from 4-8pm. Please help support our endeavors by dining-in or ordering take out from that evening! Please present the flier or use the code provided when ordering online.

This flier will also be coming home to students in their folders Thursday, September 28th 2023.

Trunk or Treat October 24th

Our Trunk-or-Treat is set for Tuesday, October 24th from 6-7:30pm in the NFES front parking lots. This year the event will feature a performance by the school chorus! Please save the date and reach out to northfrederickpta@gmail.com if you are interested in helping with the event.

More information will be coming to parents and staff members who would like to decorate a trunk.

PTA Membership Classroom Contest Update

The Membership Classroom Contest will close TOMORROW, Friday, September 22nd. Thanks to all who have joined and supported the PTA. The winning Classroom who gets to duct-tape Principal Poquette will be announced soon.

Memberships will continue to be available for purchase throughout the school year on our online givebacks store. By joining, you can have a greater voice at our school, access to benefits/discounts, opportunities to network, and show your children that you care about their education and their school.

Freddy the Falcon stickers will be available for purchase at our Scholastic Book Fair.
