"When schools thrive, communities thrive."
A Message From Dr. Lisa Krueger...
Hello West Seneca Central School District,
I would like to thank the entire West Seneca school community for their support on May 20.
The overwhelming passing of our school budget vote, bus purchase proposal and auditorium renovation proposal is reflective of a community that values education and our schools. Continuing to make the needed improvements in our schools will support our work to provide an outstanding educational experience and prepare future-ready graduates.
On behalf of our students and staff, thank you for investing in our schools.
With West Seneca Pride,
Dr. Lisa Krueger

WSCSD Music Dept. Designated - Best Community for Music Education, 2025!
Mr. Trevor Jelowski, our District Coordinator for Music Education, sent us this awesome write-up about this incredible designation:
"I am pleased to share with you that the West Seneca Music Department has been designated a “Best Community for Music Education, 2025”!
This marks the Twelfth time in recent years(and the Ninth consecutive year!) that the West Seneca Music Department has received this designation! We are extremely excited and proud to receive this honor!
"In its 25th year, Best Communities for Music Education is a signature program of The NAMM Foundation that recognizes and celebrates school districts and schools for their support of, and commitment to, music education as well as efforts to assure access to music for all students as part of a well-rounded education. The award program recognizes outstanding efforts by teachers, administrators, parents, students and community leaders who have made music education part of a well-rounded education. Designations are made to districts and schools that demonstrate an exceptionally high commitment and access to music education. The award highlights music as a national education issue and shows what your school or community is doing to provide opportunities for music learning.”
A group of nationally respected organizations act as advisors for the program including: Americans for the Arts, League of American Orchestras, The Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation, Music for All, Music Teachers National Association, National Guild For Community Arts Education, Yamaha Corporation of America, Young Audiences and Save The Music Foundation.
Thank you to our West Seneca Board of Education, Administrators, Teachers, Support Staff, Parents and Community Members for your continued, outstanding support of our music department! We are humbled and proud to be recognized among the top music departments in our country!"

Trojans Take Action
West Seneca East Senior High School has an incredible day of service every year, called "Trojans Take Action". They are a group of students, faculty and staff that are committed to creating a cohesive school environment, which includes character, school spirit and social responsibility while increasing global awareness.
On May 23, 2025, every student and staff member gave back to their community at local organizations, parks, elementary schools, middle schools and even around their own high school. This event shows students the power of helping others. In addition, it shows our community the commitment and gratitude our students have for their support.
Testimony from students and staff shows the importance of this event on student learning. We received some fabulous feedback from a few of them telling us about how they felt regarding this incredible day of service.
Graduates Madelyn McCartan and Tyler TinHan were from the first graduating class to go through four years of "Trojans Take Action". They feel that “Trojans Take Action taught us about what it means to be a good citizen in your community. It showed us the importance of leadership and the importance of helping those who help others.”
Paris Judy stated, “It gives us an opportunity to go into the community to help out and then be proud of the work we’ve done.”
Jaylyn Zimmer added, “Trojans Take Action helps bring not only your classmates together, but the community as a whole. It is so cool when you see all the signs throughout the community and know you are part of a school who truly cares about their community.”
And finally, East Senior High School Principal Jason Winnicki told us, “I think it is important for schools to give back to the community that supports them. It is our way of saying thank you for all the things our community has provided for our students – athletics, clubs, school supplies – many communities around the country are not as fortunate. The least we can do is take a day and show our appreciation. That’s an important lesson for students to learn.”
