Happy Friday Dolphins,

It's amazing that the last few weeks of school are upon us! With the Ice Cream Social, Parent & Staff Night Out, Field Day, final class field trips and class parties, there are lots of opportunities and need for volunteers. If you haven't had the chance to help at one of our events at school yet this year, please consider volunteering at one of these final events - it takes a village to pull off all of these fun events for our Dolphins.

Here are a few ways that the Dicken PTO has used the funds we've raised this year to help our school this week:

• The PTO purchased healthy snacks for the staff lounge and students.
• The PTO approved grant requests for our school social worker Charlie Nicolas and Ms Hane.
• The PTO hospitality team is working hard on making next Friday's ice cream social a festive experience for all of our community - we hope to see you all there!
• A few more surprises and year end celebrations are in the works as well, so keep your eye out for special ways that we will be celebrating our teachers, staff and students in the upcoming weeks.
  
  

If you have had any thoughts about wanting to be more involved in the Dicken community, this would be a great time of year to consider volunteering to be on the PTO board or on one of the event committees. We are specifically looking for someone to lead the planning for the Pumpkin Patch, which takes place at the end of October. This is a great position for someone who wants to help out, but can't commit to a yearlong position. In addition, we're looking for someone to lead the Ice Cream Social committee - if you think that might be something you'd be interested in, consider volunteering for a time slot next Friday and see what's involved.

Volunteers Needed for Garden Planting Friday, May 31

Each class will have half an hour in the garden, and by the end of the day we will have a fully

planted garden! Sign up to volunteer!

Seedlings

Thank you to everyone who has been caring for seedlings at home. Please bring your seedlings to

the garden on Wednesday, May 29th . I will be collecting them after school to choose the hardiest

ones for the garden.

Summer Watering & Weeding

We need families to volunteer to help keep our garden weeded and watered this summer. Join us on

There will be an independent food truck on site for anyone who wishes to purchase their own meal.

We are still in need for volunteer support to actually run the Ice Cream Social - particularly leading activities during the event. Shifts are just 1 hour, so you can still enjoy the rest of the evening. Please consider signing up via Sign Up Genius here. Thanks again!

Meet up at Pretzel Bell outside of school hours to hang out with other grown ups in the Dicken community as the school year winds down. No RSVP required, but we'd love a general guest count, so let us know if you plan to join us.

We plan to host a wine pull at this event!
