LMS Attendance Questions and Answers
Q: My middle schooler is not feeling well, should I send him to school?
A: If he has a temperature of above 100*F, he needs to stay home. If he is throwing up or has diarrhea, he needs to stay home. Please send him to school if he is tired, has "the sniffles", stomachache without vomiting or diarrhea.
Q: We have a family trip planned for October and my middle schooler will be missing a few days of school.
A: Please email or call Dr. Dennie to discuss your plan. Students and their families who request more than five days of absences for vacations or family trips must be approved by the Director of Student Services.
Q: My student has regular appointments and will miss school every week. How should I communicate this to the school?
A: Please reach out to your grade-level assistant principal and your grade-level counselor to discuss the plan.
Please remember not only are students learning academic skills at school they are also learning to problem solve, advocate for themselves as well as how to participate in a shared community. We need all our students to attend daily so they can learn these skills and develop relationships with their teachers and peers.
First Night for Band
The LMS Band will be welcoming all future band students at the annual First Night for Band. We will play with our neighbors, the LHS Marching Raider Band starting at 6pm. If you have a future LMS student we would love to see you at LHS for the program.
