TMS & THS Theatre Production of Into the Woods
Into The Woods
James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim take everyone's favorite storybook characters and bring them together for a timeless, yet relevant, piece... and a rare modern classic. The Tony Award-winning book and score are both enchanting and touching.
The story follows a Baker and his wife, who wish to have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the King's Festival; and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk. When the Baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a Witch's curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse. Everyone's wish is granted, but the consequences of their actions return to haunt them later with disastrous results. (Music Theatre International)

TMS Health Office
The health office has seen an increase in reported illnesses. Most common symptoms include fever, sore throat, and digestive issues. Parents are continuing to report Flu B, gastrointestinal illness, Covid, and Pneumonia. Please refer to the TPS Illness Protocols for a guide of when to keep your child at home. Current MDH respiratory illness guidance can be found at Current MDH respiratory illness guidance can be found here. As a reminder, illness related absences require a medical letter to excuse attendance. Please reach out to your child’s health care provider for documentation if you would like your child’s absences to be medically excused.
Thank you to all of the parents who have completed the student information form this year allowing their child permission to receive over the counter medications at school, including acetaminophen, ibuprofen, and aquaphor. If you have not completed the student information form please do so on the parent portal of PowerSchool.
Please keep the health office notified of any changes in your child’s health status to include any new medical diagnosis, fractures, sprains, concussions, etc. So we are able to work together to keep your child healthy and in school. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the health and well being of your child, please contact us.
Massachusetts Mandated School Screenings
Please be aware, postural screenings will begin after February vacation. If your child has been diagnosed with scoliosis or is followed by their provider related to postural concerns, please send in documentation to avoid potential additional screenings or referrals.
Screenings are performed at TMS throughout the school year as the student's schedule allows.
Postural – students will be screened for scoliosis in 6th, 7th, and 8th grades. Complete privacy is afforded the students during this examination. If your child is currently under the care of a physician for scoliosis, documentation for their health record is very beneficial. Please ensure your child’s provider is documenting this screening on their annual physical exam to prevent unnecessary additional screening.
Parents/legal guardians will be notified of any findings of the above screenings that may recommend medical follow-up in writing. Referrals will be sent home with students.
SBIRT Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment will be performed for all Grade 7 students. The Tyngsborough Public Schools utilizes the Screening Brief Intervention and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) protocol. For more information about SBIRT please click here. If you do not want your child to participate in Substance Use Preventive Screening, please send a written request to exclude your child from participating in SBIRT screening to the school nurse.
If a parent/guardian does not wish to have one or all of these screenings done at school, they must send:
A written request to exclude their child from participating in school screenings AND
Written documentation from the family physician documenting their results of the screening.
Please remind your child to bring a refillable water bottle each day, wear sneakers for gym class, and dress warm if they transition between buildings.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the TMS Health Office via telephone at (978) 649-3115 (option 2). For documentation the HIPAA compliant fax number is 978-649-9194.
