Hadith of the Week:“The most beloved people to Allah are those who are most beneficial to people. The most beloved deed to Allah is to make a Muslim happy, or remove one of his troubles, or forgive his debt, or feed his hunger.

Assalamu alaikum respected parents, I pray everyone is doing well in sha Allah. Tomorrow marks a significant day in the history of IFN with the ground breaking ceremony for IFN Expansion in sha Allah. May Allah SWT put His Barakat and allow for smooth and timely completion of this project in sha Allah.

Our staff and students will participate in the event to the extent possible by having conversations in the classroom, making dua and going for a walk outside to witness the ground breaking with shovels etc.

Last Sunday our students enjoyed chicken nuggets for lunch and voted in favor of having these for lunch at least once or twice a month, instead of pizza for a change. Our STAR students for the month of September and October (see names below) also received their STAR student certificates and prizes for from the office prize box last week ma sha Allah. Please be aware that Sunday School will be closed for Thanksgiving Holiday on December 1st 2024 and our Annual Qirat Memorization competition is coming up on December 15th in sha Allah. Quran Teachers will submit names of participating students on November 24th. So if your children are interested in participating, please remind them to let their teachers know by 11/24 in sha Allah.

MORNING ASSEMBLY: Our morning Assembly on 11/10 was led by Sr Zeinab Moustafa, our Dean of Quran & Arabic. Studies. She talked to students about the manners of seeking knowledge through the story of Musa AS and discussed the virtues of being humble, respectful and patient. **Join Us for "Kids in the Kitchen" at Islamic Foundation North!**

The Sunday School, in collaboration with the Parents Support Group, invites all families to a fun event! Kids will learn to make cake pops with a step-by-step demonstration. It’s a great chance for them to get creative in the kitchen while having fun with friends!

PLEASE NOTE that our 1st, 2nd, and 6th grade Classes are already FULL and we apologize that we are NOT accepting any more students in these grades. Any new students in these grades will be put on a waitlist moving forward.

Parents of PreK & KG, please note that we have revised our dismissal procedures for students of PreK and KG to ensure the safety of our youngest students at dismissal times which are very crowded. Students of PK and KG will now be lined up in the hallway on the right side by the Sunday School office. Staff will dismiss students one by one and are directed to mark off on the list when students are picked up by their parents. This may take some extra time and we appreciate your patience and cooperation to ensure safe and smooth dismissal procedures in sha Allah. JazakAllah Khair for your support!

As we have ended our first couple of months of Sunday School, we announced our "Star Students of the Month" for the months of September/October. From each grade level, 1-2 students were chosen for demonstrating excellence "ihsan" in their behavior, conduct, academics or overall performance. These students were nominated by teachers for reasons such as "being helpful, being prepared for class, participation in class, homework completion, showing EFFORT towards personal student goals, etc". We are so proud of ALL our students and our goal is to "catch them doing good" and "recognize" them for their efforts and progress. Please see below a list of all our star students this month. They received their "Star Student of the Month" certificates and also earned a prize from our office prize box. Keep up the great work, ma sha Allah!

Alhumdulillah we have added some excellent teachers and TAs to our team this year. Please refer to this list of TEACHERS & TA's for the 2024-25 school year along with their contact information. Our goal is help parents gets to know their children's teachers in sha Allah. Hence I will be introducing one teachers or TA's every week in my Newsletter Teacher Spot Light Section. Parent involvement is essential for students development, leads to increased student achievement and success and offers many benefits. We highly encourage our parents to get involved at IFN Sunday School which is why we are offering several opportunities for parent involvement this year. These include the following:

1. Join Parent Support Group (PSG) by completing this form

2. Become a Teaching Assistant

3. Become a Lunch/Recess Supervisor

4. Lead a Morning Assembly at Sunday School

5. Be a Substitute Teacher or TA

IFN Sunday School team proudly partners with MUHSEN (Muslims Understanding and Helping Special Education Needs) Non profit Program to support and include all students with specific needs. This year, the MUHSEN program is offering two programs to provide a continuum of serivices to support students with special needs including a) an exclusive 1:1 support program in a separate classroom for students needing a higher level of support and b) an inclusive level of support where students will get push in support from MUHSEN TAs inside their regular classroom.
