April Monthly Activity Calendar
Click the link below to access and print the calendar for the month of APRIL. As a family try to do as many of the boxes as you can during the entire month of April! You will see that many of the activities are geared toward GREEN activities since we are kicking off GREEN WEEK in the month of April. This month's activity calendar was created by STEAM/Technology Teacher, Ms. D'Amico!
April 8th...Solar Eclipse
The solar eclipse will occur as we return from spring break. Although NJ is not in the path of totality, we will absolutely notice that the eclipse is occurring! On April 8, your child’s teacher will discuss the eclipse in class, including safe viewing of the eclipse.
Please note regular sunglasses, swimming goggles, and most camera filters are NOT safe for looking directly at the sun. You can safely protect your eyes with certified solar-viewing glasses, which can be purchased from a reputable provider. Make sure that on the back of the glasses, in small print, they say that they are ISO 12312-2 certified. Alternatively you can observe the sun indirectly using the suggestions below:
Colander (from your kitchen) To use it during the eclipse, stand with your back to the Sun and hold up a colander so that the Sun’s light shines through it on the ground or a wall where there will be many tiny images of the eclipsed Sun in the Colander’s shadow.

March Jaguar of the Month - Student Recognition Program
As a school learning community, we are recognizing TJS jaguars who consistently demonstrate exemplary character traits, behavior, kindness, and compassion for others. Nominations are submitted throughout the entire month and at the end of the month, one jaguar from each grade level is selected and recognized. Today, Ms. Garcia announced the March Jaguars of the Month!
Congratulations to...
- Kindergartener - Isabella Bonifacio-Gianzana
- First Grader - Eden Kean
- Second Grader - Fox Macron
- Third Grader - Harrison Kean
- Fourth Grader - Stephen Kostelansky
- Fifth Grader - Arean Diaz
We are hopeful that as a community, students will be eager to serve as positive role models for their peers to always be upstanding members of our school.
April is Autism Acceptance Month
We want to let you all in on what we have found in the Autism community, so that you can help us spread the word!
One thing that we have found is that we should really be calling April Autism Acceptance Month. It is time to move forward from being “aware” of autistic individuals and move towards accepting them. We will now be celebrating Autism ACCEPTANCE Month in April along with the autism community! We hope you will join us.
We would like students to wear BLUE on April 10th to support the autism community.
