Important Info/Reminders/Save the Dates
- Our weekly message will be sent Sunday afternoons via text and email. You can access it early (on Saturdays) on Facebook.
- Lego robotics time is here! Fourth and fifth graders may get an application from their teacher. Please return the forms by August 29th. Tryouts are after school on Tuesday, September 3rd.
- Donuts with D.O.G.S.: Calling all Dads of Great Students (D.O.G.S.)! If you are a dad, granddad, uncle, or other positive male role model in an RES students' life, you are invited to join us on Wednesday, September 18th at 8:15 AM for our Watch D.O.G. kick off event, Donuts with D.O.G.S.! The event will be held in the library and will give you the opportunity to learn more about the program and sign up to be a part of it. See below for more info and SIGN UP HERE!
- Our GIRLS ON THE RUN program is starting up again in September! Please see below for details and reach out to Miss Shively at eshively@glnd.k12.va.us with questions. Spaces are limited. This program is for grades 3-5.
- Attendance in school significantly impacts a student’s academic success, and families play a crucial role in making sure students make it to school on time each day. Please remember to reach out to roadrunners@glnd.k12.va.us OR call the school to let us know that your child will be absent. Please take a moment to view the attached letter regarding the impacts of compulsory attendance.
- All flyers and promotional information will be housed in one place. You can access that information here: FLYERS AND PROMOTIONAL INFO *the link will always be at the bottom of this newsletter under "useful links."
- Please make sure you are present at the bus stop. We had a number of students returned to school because there wasn't anyone at the stop. This also makes our buses late to the secondary complex for their dismissal - thank you!
- Yearbook information is attached below. Order early so you don't miss the deadline!
- The Top 10 List continues to be attached below in both English and Spanish. This is a great reference for our families throughout the year.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call our main office. We are happy to help!
Let's make it a GREAT week,
Melissa Reams, Principal
