Raven Class - 6th Grade
Dear Siskiyou Community,
What an incredible journey we've had with our Raven class! January was filled with magic, laughter, and growth as our talented 6th graders brought The Sword in the Stone to life on stage. While holding a class play for the first time, I was blown away by these young performers' transformation.
From day one, our Ravens soared to new heights! With each rehearsal, their confidence blossomed. They mastered their lines with unwavering determination, hit their cues with perfect timing, and danced their hearts out with infectious energy. It was impressive to see them navigate costume changes like seasoned pros, with some juggling four different outfits! Throughout it all, they supported and uplifted one another like a true ensemble.
On stage, our students wove a rich tapestry of characters. We saw a hilarious jester and strong bishop, brave and bumbling knights, loving family and friends, and even an insightful tree. Formidable villains challenged our heroes, while Merlin provided unwavering support, guidance, and belief in Arthur. We watched Arthur himself grow, overcoming personal fears and gaining self-confidence through Merlin's mentorship and life experiences. The entire ensemble brought these characters to life with performances that were nothing short of magical!
A standing ovation is due to Nina Gallwey for crafting a play that resonates so beautifully with our 6th graders, both in terms of their personal growth and our curriculum. And let's hear it for our phenomenal director, Eve Smyth, whose guidance pushed our Ravens to reach for the stars! To our wonderful parents and parent pillars, thank you for being the foundation of this entire production.
The Sword in the Stone will forever be etched in our hearts. To our brilliant Raven class – BRAVO! We couldn't be more proud of you. You've proven that anything is possible with teamwork, perseverance, and a touch of magic.
