Breakfast and Lunch
New this year: The District will participate in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) for this school year. What this means for our WCS families is that every enrolled WCS student is automatically eligible to receive a healthy breakfast and lunch meal at no charge. Please note that the program covers a full breakfast and lunch meal. Extra food or á la carte items will incur a charge. Visit wilmingtoncityschools.com/foodservice for more information.
No forms or applications are required to participate in this program. However, to determine eligibility for various additional state and federal program benefits that your child’s school may qualify for, we encourage you to complete, sign, and submit our Assistance Form if your income falls within or below the guidelines in the document. Forms will be available at Open House and will be sent home with kids in the 1st week of school.
Cell Phones
One large focus this school year will be reducing distractions in the school building and classrooms, including cell phone use. These devices can be extremely distracting during instruction and can lead to behavior and safety issues in the building.
Students will have access to Chromebooks for educational purposes in classes throughout the day. Other electronic devices (i.e. cell phones, smart watches, wireless earbuds/airpods) may be used during the following times:
Before School
After School
Students need to have their personal electronic devices turned off and put away during the school day. Personal electronic devices are NOT permitted during the school day from 7:40-2:30. No electronic device brought by the student is the responsibility of Wilmington High School.
Parents have the opportunity to contact their child by contacting the front office. If you need to speak with your child, or get them a message, please call the front office at (937) 382-7716.
Students may also ask for permission to use the office phone to contact their parents. We appreciate your support!
