Miners in the Middle
October 13, 2024
Week of October 14th - 19th
Dear Parents and Guardians,
We’ve just wrapped up our midterm exams, and this week will be a short one for students. School will only be in session on Monday and Tuesday. On Wednesday morning, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, we will hold our second and final Parent/Teacher Conferences for this semester. We hope to see you there!
Please note that Thursday and Friday are part of our Fall Break, and all offices will be closed.
Looking ahead, we’re excited to kick off Red Ribbon Week starting Wednesday, October 23rd. We have several fun activities planned, including dress-up days, an assembly, and contests. More details will be shared soon.
A couple of important reminders:
- If your child still has picture money to turn in, please make sure it’s brought to school on Monday.
- If you ordered a 2023/2024 yearbook, they have arrived and can be picked up in the high school office.
Additionally, we’ve noticed an increase in student write-ups for talking and disrupting class. Please take a moment to review our classroom behavior expectations (below) with your child and stress the importance of meeting these expectations so that all students can learn in a productive environment.
Finally, please continue to remind your child to keep their lockers locked and avoid sharing lockers or placing items on top. This helps ensure the safety of everyone’s belongings.
Thank you for your continued support, and I hope everyone has a relaxing and enjoyable Fall Break!
Sincerely,
Nicole Green
Principal

Classroom Expectations
These are our school-wide expectations for our students. Positive behavior fosters an environment where ALL students can learn and grow. It is our hope that our HMS families will discuss our school-wide behavior expectations and encourage positive behaviors at school and home.
Common Areas Expectations
Our school-wide expectations extend beyond the classroom. It is important that students also realize they are accountable for their behaviors in the hallway, cafeteria and at all school sponsored activities on and off campus.
