April 2024
Message From Dr. Powers
Greetings Collett Families,
We hope this newsletter finds you well as we dive into the fourth month of the year! As we step into the arrival of Spring and transition into April, it’s a pleasure to reflect on the incredible journey of learning and growth we’ve shared so far this academic year. With spring here, our school community continues to blossom with enthusiasm and dedication.
**Highlights:**
**Academic Focus:** As we approach the end of the school year, our focus remains on academic growth and achievement. We encourage you to support your child's learning at home and to communicate regularly with your teachers about their progress.
3. **Upcoming Events:** CAASPP (California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress) testing for Grades 3rd - 5th grade will begin the week of April 29, 2024. This test are designed to measure student progress in English Language Arts/Literacy/Mathematics. These tests provide valuable insights into your child's academic strengths and areas of growth, as well as helping to inform our instructional practices.
Testing Begins April 29, 2024 to May 17, 2024
To ensure your child is prepared and ready for the assessment, we encourage you to:
- Ensure they get plenty of sleep and rest the night before each testing day.
- Provide a nutritious breakfast to fuel their minds for optimal performance.
- Encourage them to do their BEST while remaining calm and confident.
- Remind them that the assessments are just one measure of their progress and that their hard work is appreciated, regardless of the results.
We understand that standardized testing can sometimes be stressful for students, but we want to reassure you that our teachers and staff are here to support them every step of the way. Thank you for your continued support and partnership in your child's education. Together, we can help them reach their full potential.
**Gratitude:**
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our dedicated educators, supportive families, and enthusiastic students for their unwavering commitment to learning and growth. Together, we continue to inspire and empower each other every day.
Thank you for your support and involvement in your child's education. Together, we can make this a successful and enriching month for our students.
