Message from Mrs. Phelan
Dear Families,
I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to Ms. Donahue and Ms. Loguidice for orchestrating yet another exceptional Field Day for us. The delightful weather only enhanced the magic of our special day, and it was evident that your meticulous planning and flawless execution played a significant role in its success.
A special appreciation goes out to the dedicated staff and the enthusiastic young substitutes who wholeheartedly supported our students throughout the event. Your presence and assistance did not go unnoticed and contributed significantly to the overall positive experience.
The kickball game was undoubtedly a crowd favorite, and the inclusion of our young substitutes added an exciting dynamic to the competition this year. Their unwavering enthusiasm and competitive spirit made the game even more enjoyable for everyone involved.
I must commend Stacy Vachon for her exceptional work in curating the soundtrack for the day. Her ability to select the perfect tempo and sounds truly enhanced the atmosphere and complemented the various events splendidly.
A resounding thank you to our extraordinary Student Services Team for consistently being there when our students required a little extra care and attention. Your timely support and dedication did not go unnoticed and were deeply appreciated.
I am also grateful to our esteemed Diversity Council for hosting the calming tent once again this year, providing a serene space for those in need of a peaceful moment amidst the festivities.
Special mention must be made to the FTO for providing the vibrant T-shirts, which undoubtedly added a touch of school spirit to the occasion and unified us as a community.
Lastly, I would like to acknowledge Mr. Kraus for joining us on his first Field Day in America. His awe and admiration for the joyful atmosphere were palpable, and his enthusiasm, especially during the kickball game, was truly commendable. Despite initial concerns, Mr. Kraus exceeded all expectations and showcased remarkable sportsmanship, much to the delight of everyone present.
Once again, I extend my gratitude to each and every individual involved in making this Field Day a memorable and joyous occasion. Your hard work, dedication, and unwavering support did not go unnoticed and were instrumental in creating a day filled with laughter, camaraderie, and unforgettable moments.
With sincere appreciation and warm regards,
Stacy
Curriculum News
Part 3 -What does Wit & Wisdom look like in the classroom?
Next year, students will participate in literacy Modules for Wit & Wisdom where students deeply study topics like Outer Space or America Then and Now. The modules are centered around engaging texts. Students develop knowledge about the topic as they simultaneously learn vocabulary and grammar. In each module, students write about what they read and articulate the meaning of each text in formal and informal discussions with their peers.
Wit & Wisdom notes: ‘By reading engaging texts and participating meaningfully in their learning, students develop the knowledge and skills they need to be successful readers, critical thinkers, and effective communicators who love to learn and can succeed in college and careers.”
You will continue to learn more from your teacher about the specific Modules and topics that your student is learning in September!
Pride Day Posters
After an exciting field day, students from 3rd to 5th grade participated in an optional activity where they decorated posters for Pride Day. The young artists poured their creativity into vibrant designs, celebrating and honoring the diversity in our community. Their enthusiasm and joy were palpable, as they proudly displayed their colorful works, reflecting the inclusive spirit of Pride and the unity within our school.
Presentations in 3rd Grade
In Ms. Antonelli's room, students proudly presented their animal research books. Each shared fascinating details about their chosen animal, showcasing their hard work and research skills.
Check out some of their incredible work!

Golden Leopard
We are amazed at how many students have been spotted! We are so proud to see children in the school working hard to demonstrate their commitment to our core values.
The Golden Leopard reward was created to celebrate our students. If a student earns a leopard spot for each core value in one week, they will receive the Golden Leopard reward.
They will receive a special certificate; their names will be announced during the morning messages and appear in the family newsletter.
During this week, we had two students that earned the Golden Leopard. Please congratulate Caroline Marsh Zinser and Quinn McAndrew!
