NOTES FROM YOUR PRINCIPALS
Dear Titus Family,
I hope this message finds you well!
I want to take a moment to celebrate the incredible success of our Run for Funds event this week. It has been truly heartwarming to see our Titus Tigers come together, showcasing their school spirit and enthusiasm.
A huge thank you to our amazing parents and families for your unwavering support. Your involvement not only enriches our school community but also inspires our students to do their best.
Stay tuned for a special edition of the Tiger Times coming out this Monday! It will highlight all the exciting events from the week and reveal our grand total raised. I can’t wait to share all the wonderful moments we’ve experienced together!
Thank you for being such a vital part of our Titus family!
Warmest wishes.
Your Proud Principal,
Mrs. Helen Sclama Zaleski
Hello Titus Community-
We had another tremendous week here in school. We are so proud of our 6TH grade LEADERS for their work with the Run for Funds. This week their groups made their way into classrooms to do presentations centered around P.R.I.D.E. Way to go LEADERS!!!
Today was the BIG EVENT. Even mother nature couldn’t rain on this parade. These kids were ready to rock and roll. Once again, the Titus Pride was in full force today and I had so much fun seeing all the students run outside with smiles on their faces.
Special shout out to the Home and School Association and our 6th grade team for making all of this happen!
Mr. Filson!

PSSA Reports
Today - September 27th - the 2024 PSSA Individual Student Report (ISR) will be sent home in a sealed envelope with your 4th - 6th grade child. The assessment was administered in grades 3-6 in English Language Arts and Mathematics, and grade 4 in science during the 2023-24 school year.
If your child receives a blank report, that is an indication that your child did not take the assessment. Additionally, you will not receive a report if your child was not a student at Elementary School during our last school year.
If you have any questions about this information, please feel free to reach out to me. We value your continuous support of your child's learning.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Helen Sclama Zaleski

Book Fair Information
Dear Families,
Get ready—the Scholastic Book Fair is coming to our school! This is a great opportunity to connect with your child over the thrill of bringing home new books to dive into again and again. Studies show that kids read more when they choose books for themselves. And fostering a love of independent reading leads to a wide variety of benefits—including academic success and improved mental health.
Here’s everything you need to know about the Book Fair:
Dates: October 21st – October 25th
Location: Titus Library
Family Event schedule and location: October 24th Trunk-or-Treat and Shop the Fair (6pm-8pm)
There’s even more info on our school’s Book Fair homepage:
https://www.scholastic.com/bf/florencedtituselemschool
While you’re there, set up a Book Fair eWallet, the digital payment account that allows your child to shop for books at the Fair without cash. Then share your eWallet link so friends and extended family can add funds.
When you fund an eWallet, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to a giving initiative called
Share the Fairâ„¢. Your contributions directly support our students who need help buying books
from the Fair. Many of us still remember the rush of finding the perfect book at a Scholastic Book Fair. I hope you’ll join your child at our school’s Fair and share a reading experience they’ll remember forever. Happy reading,
Mrs. Paine

ABSENCES AND APPOINTMENTS
TITUS SCHOOL DAY
SCHOOL HOURS REMINDER
We are an "A" or early school, and our hours are 8:35 AM to 3:15 PM.
The morning kindergarten session hours are 8:35 AM to 11:10 AM.
The afternoon kindergarten session will run from 12:40 PM to 3:15PM.
START OF THE SCHOOL DAY ...
Please be aware that the school day begins at 8:35 AM in your child(ren)'s classroom(s). If you are a car rider in the morning, it is recommended that children are dropped off no later than 8:30 AM in order to get to their classrooms for the start of the school day at 8:35 AM. If a student arrives in their classroom beyond 8:35 AM, they are considered tardy. Parents will need to come into the building to sign their child in if they arrive after 8:35 AM.
The adults supervising the car-rider drop-off line will be on duty until 8:32 AM. Students dropped off after 8:32 AM will more than likely not be able to make it to their classrooms on time for the start of the school day at 8:35 AM. Also, for safety reasons, students arriving to school prior to 8:15 AM, need to be supervised by their parent/caregiver. We ask that all students wait with their family member in the drop off line until 8:15 AM.

COMMITTED TO ALL STUDENTS
Committed to an Inclusive Environment for Students with Disabilities
At Central Bucks, our mission is to equip every student, regardless of ability or need, with academic and problem-solving skills essential for personal growth, responsible citizenship and continuous learning. In recent years, the district has been working to create a continuum of special education services and programs in all schools to ensure students with disabilities can be educated in their home schools and alongside their peers, to the maximum extent possible, rather than transported to schools or locations outside their home school. Regular School Attendance is Critical for Student Success and Well-Being
As we begin the 2024-25 school year, CBSD wishes to remind families of important information regarding attendance. Information on Title IX
The 2024 Title IX regulations enhance protections against sexual harassment and gender identity discrimination. CBSD is dedicated to ensuring an environment free from discrimination due to race, age, religion, sex, gender identity, disability and any other classification protected by state or federal law. We uphold Title IX, prohibiting sex-based discrimination and harassment. Updated Title IX regulations, approved in the summer of 2024, emphasize stronger protections for students, particularly regarding sexual harassment and gender identity discrimination. Parents and guardians with inquiries should contact their building principal or Alyssa Wright, Title IX coordinator, at 267-893-2060 or alwright@cbsd.org. More information
SAFETY UPDATE
New Safety Protocol Launched with New School Year
All schools in CBSD will be implementing the Standard Response Protocol developed by the "I Love U Guys" Foundation beginning this school year. The SRP provides a framework for handling various emergency situations in schools by emphasizing the importance of consistent, clear communication across all schools and with law enforcement. Learn more by clicking here.
TECH REMINDERS
Payment System Open for 1-to-1 Device Fee for Grades 3-12
The 1-to-1 fee payment system opened on August 14 for families of students in grades 3-12. There is no fee for families of K-2 students as devices for these grades stay at school. All CB students will either receive a device this year or continue to use the device that was issued last year. Even if your child has their own device, we ask that you participate in our program to allow for a consistent learning platform for our students. Read more about the plan, the fee amounts, and next steps here.

VOLUNTEERS
DON'T FORGET CLEARANCES ...
Titus will expect all potential volunteers to complete their paperwork for clearances prior to assuming any volunteer/chaperone role within the school. This will ensure we are in line with district and state expectations.
Who Needs Clearances: An individual who is responsible for the child's welfare or has direct contact with children. Pennsylvania law requires all persons having direct contact with school children to obtain background checks and clearances. In the best interest of the safety and security of our students, Central Bucks School District required the submission of these clearances prior to volunteering during the school year. Approved volunteers are given an identification card to be presented at the school (along with your photo ID, such as a driver's license) when volunteering. Please allow 7-10 days after you have submitted your online application for receipt of the ID card.
Additional information and steps on how to complete your clearances can be found on our district website by clicking here.
