Rhody Critter Kit Training - Register by May 18
The Rhody Critter Kit training with the DEM is coming up on Thursday, May 19. This training will take place at the RI Division of Fish and Wildlife Outdoor Education Office in Arcadia Management Area (Hope Valley). The training will cover the Rhody Critter Kit curriculum, designed to connect children in grades K-8 to the wildlife resources right in their own backyards and communities. Each kit contains lesson plans, activities, videos, hands-on learning materials, and other resources with special emphasis on Rhode Island’s wildlife species, conservation work, and management practices. You can find additional information about the kits at www.dem.ri.gov/critterkits.
The training is scheduled for 9am – 3pm and will be held rain or shine, so dress for the weather and bring your lunch. There will be time to explore other activities DEM has to offer as well as the area’s trails. If you haven’t already registered, please register no later than 9am, May 18th at https://olis-ri.libcal.com/event/8530316. Directions to the Arcadia Management Area will be emailed to registrants.
SRP Credit Line for Using CSLP Materials and SRP Mini-grants
Libraries that have received an iREAD guide and posters/bookmarks, and that use any iREAD materials (including the slogan and artwork) must use the following credit line on ALL SRP signs, press releases, posters, websites and promotions. This credit line should also be used when promoting activities funded by the LORI SRP Mini-grant.
Libraries may personalize this credit line by adding the library’s name and the names of local sponsors at the end:
The statewide Rhode Island Summer Reading Program is supported by the RI Office of Library and Information Services, with funds from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
