Message from the Principal
Dear Kennedy High School Families and Community,
I am writing to share some exciting news about our students and school.
I am thrilled to announce the achievements of three of our talented students in the National PTA Reflections program. Amara Reyes has been awarded the Award of Excellence for her outstanding entry. This recognition Amara qualifies her to represent Kennedy High School at the District Reflections program. Irene Kim has been awarded the Award of Merit for her impressive entry. Jianna Bautista has been awarded an Honorable Mention for her creative work. We are incredibly proud of Amara, Irene, and Jianna for their dedication and talent. Their achievements reflect the high caliber of our students and the supportive environment we provide at Kennedy High School.
In addition to these individual accomplishments, I would also like to highlight that at the Thursday, October 17th AUHSD Board Meeting, Assemblywoman Sharon Quirk Silva honored Kennedy High School for being a California Department of Education Distinguished School. This prestigious honor is awarded to schools that demonstrate exceptional performance and progress on the state indicators. I want to express my sincere gratitude to our amazing teachers, staff, and students for their hard work and dedication that made this achievement possible.
I would like to invite you to join us for our upcoming Coffee with the Principal event at Walker Junior High School on Thursday, October 24th at 9:30 AM. This joint Kennedy HS and Walker JHS event will focus on drug prevention and awareness. If you cannot join us in person, you can watch the event live or view the recording at your convenience.
On Thursday, October 24th at 7:00 PM, please plan to wear GREEN to support our Fighting Irish Varsity Football team as they take on Marina High School at Handel Stadium. Let's come together to cheer them on to victory!
Finally, I would like to remind you that Kennedy students will be taking the PSAT on Saturday, October 26th. The PSAT is a valuable tool that can help students prepare for the SAT, familiarize themselves with the test format, and potentially qualify for National Merit Scholarships.
Thank you for your continued support of Kennedy High School. We are committed to providing a high-quality education for all of our students and look forward to celebrating many more successes together.
Sincerely,
Poppy Hill-Bonales

District Volunteer Process
The district has rolled out with a new volunteer process this school year. You must register through the Raptor system and choose between Tier 1 and Tier 2.
Tier 2 clearance allows volunteers to participate in prolonged student contact such as overnight trips with students, but requires a tuberculosis test and fingerprint. All other general volunteer participation would be Tier 1.
If you are interested in volunteering for any program on campus, you must sign up and attend an orientation held by the district. Please see the flyers below for more information (you can click on the flyer).

We are having our next joint Coffee with the Principal at Walker JHS on October 24th from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Partnering with Waymakers, we are having a Drug-Free presentation to help you identify signs and live a drug-free lifestyle. We will also have this livestreamed virtually. Please use the bit.ly link to join us.
Hope to see you there!
Parent Leadership Academy
The district is proud to present the newly revamped Parent Leadership Academy (PLA).
