As part of our focus on belonging at FHS, last week, students from the Multicultural Club shared the following:

Franklin’s Multicultural Club strives to create a diverse, inclusive environment for everyone regardless of their race, ethnicity, or religion. Whether that be sharing one’s culture or simply acknowledging one’s different set of beliefs, everyone should strive to incorporate others.

You may have noticed staff and students wearing blue on certain Wednesdays throughout the school year. The slogan, “be kind” is a call to action that when met, allows all students to feel welcome and safe in our spaces. Be mindful of your words and how you interact with your classmates. A moment of kindness can make a world of difference. Ask yourself:

• Do I use words that welcome or do I use words that isolate ?

• Do I leave my classroom spaces better than I found them?

• Do I add or detract from a positive school culture?

• Do I intervene when other students use language that causes discomfort?

• Do I seek or offer support when I notice others struggling?

Long after you leave FHS, your peers and teachers may not remember your grades, the activities you participated in, whether you were on homecoming or prom court, or your GPA. What they will remember is how you treated them. Be a difference maker, be kind.

Every moment our students and staff have matters, so let’s make the most of them this week!

Senior Photo 5/17:

The senior group photo is scheduled for Wednesday, 5/17 during Advisory, in the gym.

Senior Meeting 5/24:

The senior meeting will be held on Wednesday, 5/24 during Advisory, in the Saber Center. The meeting will go over ceremony expectations, where to park, arrival time etc. We will also email those details to families afterwards.

Senior Awards Night 5/30:

Senior Honors Night will be held on May 30th at 6:30pm in the Saber Center. Class of 2023 students eligible for this honor and celebration include:

• Senior honor students with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher
• Class of 2023 Valedictorian and Salutatorian
• Outstanding Seniors
• Selected scholarship winners
• Students of the Year selected by each FHS department

Students and families were sent an email notification about Honors Night. Students are requested to complete their Honors Student Biography Information form asap.

Senior Class Trip to Great America 6/2:

For those who purchased tickets: We will leave the high school at 10:00 a.m. and return at approximately 5:00 p.m. All students must report to their 1B and 2B classes. You will be dismissed via the PA to breakfast from your 2B class at approximately 9:15 a.m. and should report to the cafeteria.

Please note: If you are marked as unexcused from either of your first two classes, you will not be allowed to attend either the breakfast or the trip to Great America.

Caps & Gowns:

If you ordered a cap & gown or other graduation accessories from Jostens, it has arrived at FHS. You may pick up your items any weekday, from 7:30am-3pm. If you did not place an order, but want/need a cap & gown or tassel, we have some available to purchase at FHS. $49 (Cap/Gown/Tassel), $20 (Cap/Tassel), $10 (Tassel). Items can be purchased any weekday from 7:30am-3pm, Cash or Money Orders only.

Graduation Ceremony 6/24:

Graduation will be held on Saturday, June 24th at American Family Field, at 4:00pm. As of today, this is the date and time for graduation. However, our contract with American Family Field does state that the date and time may change based on any number of factors (i.e. baseball schedule changes directed by the MLB or any safety protocols that may be in place at that time). If there is to be a change, we will communicate this as soon as we are made aware.

Graduation Tickets: 4 complimentary (free) tickets will be provided per graduate. Exception: Graduates with more than one household or households with more than one graduating student will only receive (4) free complimentary tickets. Please note the graduate does not need a ticket and does not count as part of the (4) tickets a family receives. Additional tickets may be purchased for $8 ea.; there is no limit on additional tickets as these are for general admission. Graduates will receive their 4 free tickets on 5/24 prior to the Senior Meeting. Additional tickets will be available for purchase on 5/25. Cash (exact change please) or Credit Only.

Registration for the 2023-24 school year is open on our website here. Registration is for any new families to Franklin or new students looking to register for next year in 4K, 5K or up through 12th grade. If you have any friends or family in Franklin that plan to have children attend Franklin Public Schools next year, please pass this information along to them! Registering early helps to get all information in our system for planned communications. Any family who knows a student will not be returning for the next school year should notify your school’s main office staff.

Congrats to the Franklin Boys Golf team for winning the SEC Conference Championship! Senior Zach Koch was also named Conference Player of the Year!

CultureFest 2023 was incredible! We’re grateful for the hundreds of community members who attended the event, hosted by the FHS Multicultural Club. The vision and leadership of this group of students as they planned and executed this event for our community is inspiring. Thank you Mr. Levin, Ms Merriett, MCC Board, Mr. Stewart, and everyone involved!

As shared recently with all FPS families, our Back-To-School Online Check-in (BTSOC) for the 2023-24 school year will be opening up for all families on Thursday, June 1st around noon. This is a moved up timetable from the past when this would open in August. BTSOC asks parents and guardians to complete check-in activities such as updating your child(ren)’s emergency contacts, medical information, and transportation needs so we can verify they will be attending school with us for the fall and get everything ready for their return. Back-to-School Online Check-in needs to be completed between Thursday, June 1st and Monday, July 31st.

The Department of Workforce Development's Equal Rights Division has developed a new online work permit application tool. The new online application is available to the parents of minors 24 hours a day, 7 days a week from any computer, tablet, smartphone, or similar device. The application is live NOW. Parents can access the site using these instructions. Payment is made directly to the department through the application, using a credit or debit card or by ACH direct withdrawal. Once the permit application process is complete, the Department mails a paper copy of the permit directly to the employer.

The FHS Classes of 2026 officers have teamed with the Milwaukee Milkmen for a ticket sales fundraiser. We are helping to sell tickets for the Milkmen games on Saturday, June 9th at 6:35pm (Class of 2026). Every ticket purchased using the ticket links above will benefit the corresponding class. Any funds raised will be utilized for enhancements to the junior prom, senior class trip, or senior class gift for the Class of 2025/2026.
