February Sign-up Week Specials
We are pleased to announce that our February signup week specials will be a collaboration between some of the AHS Career and Technical Education teachers, students and Project Connect staff. Science teachers Rachel Skerker and Deanna Wells-Scott will offer a Monday playgroup on water science. Environmental Science teacher Kirby Ruggieri will highlight plants on Tuesday and animals on Thursday. Child Care instructor Molly Abernathy will plan our Friday playgroup. We hope to have Dbl ACS and the Sun Chronicle visit during the week. Our thanks go to Rachel Skerker, PTO president, for suggesting and organizing this collaboration!

Child Find Notice
Anyone living in Attleboro or attending a private school in the city limits has the right to request an evaluation to determine eligibility for Special Education services in Attleboro Public Schools. To read the full notice or find a contact, please click the link (different languages provided):
*Sign-up Week* Playgroup registration will be on Monday, January 6th to Friday, January 10th. Monday and Tuesday will be reserved for new families only. Sign up for returning families will be Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
Playgroups will begin the week of January 13th and end the week of February 15th. Please include your child/ren's name, birth, home address and phone number when signing up. All groups birth through 5 years old are held at Project Connect's center unless specified. Please email Jacquie at jcapitanio@attleboroschools.com to register for all classes below. *Families can sign up for 3 playgroups max, not including drop-ins, nighttime groups, Saturdays and walking groups*
Mondays, beginning January 13th and ending February 10th
Toddler Time from 9:30-10:45 am, early walkers to 2.9 years old with Ms. Beatrice (non mobile siblings welcomed) Toddler time allows children to learn through play at their own pace and discover their own interests. Activities will include sensory, fine and gross motor and social emotional experiences, followed by circle time
Fun with Early Literacy from 9:30-11:00 am, 2.9-5 years old with Ms. Sarah (non mobile siblings welcomed) Come join us as we explore stories in a more preschool-like setting. Friends will have the opportunity to engage in sensory, fine motor and social emotional experiences that are all tied to the story of the day. (This group is offered twice, please choose one to attend)
The Baby Group from 11:00-12:00 pm, birth through pre-walkers with Ms. Beatrice (siblings welcomed) This playgroup is designed to support babies and their parents/caregivers to play, share ideas, and chat about the ups and downs of parenting. Activities will support a baby’s social, emotional, and physical development. Each week will also include facilitated conversations to build community and share skills & resources with each other.
Lunch Bunch from 11:30-12:45 pm, 2.9 - 5 years old (non mobile siblings welcomed)
with Ms. Sarah Is your child attending the ELC? Come join us on your way home for lunch, a story and some playtime. This experience will be a great way to help your child learn to independently navigate the lunch routine that they will encounter in Kindergarten (opening items in their lunchbox, eating in an allotted time and cleaning up after themselves). We will eat upon arrival (as they will most likely be hungry) and then have a story followed by a little free play. Open to anyone looking for a fun social lunch!
Tuesdays, beginning January 14th and ending February 11th
Playtime @ the Gym from 9:15-10:30 am with birth-5 years old at the Bartek Recreation Center with Ms. Dana and Ms. Ashley Join us for gross motor activities and circle time. *Note: This is drop-in playgroup, no registration required.* Location: 81 Pine St.
Music with Ms. Beatrice from 9:30-10:30 am, birth - 5 years old This lively group will nourish your child's love and natural enthusiasm for music, movement and fun! For those who know and love Ms. Cheryl's Music and Movement class, this is not identical, but has overlapping songs/experiences and is still a blast! (Families may choose only one music group to attend, thank you)

Mixed Group from 10:45-12:00 pm, birth - 5 years old with Ms. Dana
This playgroup is based on promoting children's developmental milestones including: social/emotional, language, cognitive and movement in play setting. Activities include free play, reading and circle time.
Walking in a Winter Wonderland @ Capron Park from 11:00-12:00pm birth - 5 years old with Ms. Beatrice Did you know spending time in nature helps adults & kids sleep better, feel calmer, and get sick less often? Bundle up and come and walk and talk with friends in the mid-day fresh air! Meet us on the flats side of Capron Park (near the parks department building) to walk the loop. Depending on wind & temperatures, we will walk for 20-50 minutes. Location: 201 County St.
Wednesdays, beginning Jan. 15th and ending Feb. 12th
Fun in the Kitchen from 9:15-10:15 am, 2-5 years old with Ms. Dana and Ms. Ashley (non-mobile siblings welcomed) Each week you and your child can make some easy, nutritious snacks. This is a fun way to foster your child's cognitive, fine motor and social emotional development. (Some activities may be more suited to children 18mo+ but all are welcomed!) Free play and STEM activities will both be open to children.
Thursdays, beginning Jan. 16th and ending Feb. 13th

Parent Education
Parent Education Book Club: No-Drama Discipline from 1:00-2:00 pm on Mondays (1/13 to 2/10)
In this series we will read and learn from No-Drama Discipline by Daniel J. Seigal and Tina Payne Bryson about disciplining children with their developing brains in mind and teaching them life-long skills for thriving. This book club is available in hybrid format--you can come in-person (children are welcome and will have an opportunity to play within sight of parents) or join via Zoom. If you are interested in reading and discussing this book, but are unavailable at this time, email Ms. Beatrice! *Parties will be responsible in obtaining a copy of the book. The Sails (Attleboro Library) app does have the book available to place a hold for check out*
PTO News!
Thank you everyone who has participated in the recent fundraisers! The fun is not stopping yet. We will be hosting a Chipotle Fundraiser on January 22nd from 4-8 pm and more coming soon! Please check out the PTO newsletter for more information. The next meeting will be on Wednesday, January 8th at 6:00-7:00 pm, children welcomed!

Project Connect Closures/Bad Weather Cancellations
- Project Connect will be closed and no playgroups will occur on the following dates:
January 20th
February 17th - 21st
- If Channel 9, and local news stations announce, " No School for Attleboro", then Project Connect will be CLOSED. If there is a school delay, we will cancel the first morning group. Information will be posted on Facebook.
