We have had a wonderful first full week of school. Students have been learning classroom routines, making new friends and connecting with old friends. It is an exciting time for our students and staff. A big thank you to everyone for all your support.
We held our first PTO meeting of the year on Wednesday. It was great to see so many new faces and the turnout was great! We were excited to welcome our executive board back and our new families, and volunteers to the group. We are looking forward a number of fun student and family activities that will be offered this year. If you are interested in volunteering or learning more about our PTO please come to the next meeting held at Wales Primary School on 10/3 at 6pm.
Our Open House will be held on Thursday, September 26th from 6-7:30. A letter will be sent home next week with details.
Finally, a quick note for parents on our upcoming early release day on Friday 9/27. UPK will dismiss at 11:30, K-3 parent pick-up will begin at 11:45 and our bus dismissal will be at noon.
As part of our safety plan, we practice our drills. Per NYS we must have 8 fire drills per school year, 6 before 12/31 and 2 after. We also must conduct 4 lockdown drills 2 each half of the school year. We will be having 2-3 fire drills next week, weather-dependent.
