AEHS Weekly Newsletter
September 22nd, 2024
Good evening, Titan Community.
The Fall season has officially begun. We had a great PTSA meeting this past week, thank you to all our PTSA Board Members, Committee Chairs, and PTSA members. We encourage everyone to join our PTSA and access our monthly meetings. PTSA provides a great opportunity for guardians to be a part of Einstein High School’s success.
This week interim grades will be submitted on Friday, September 27. Please continue to monitor your students' grades through ParentVue and reach out to teachers if you have questions.
Friday is also an early release day, and we will be engaging in our first Safety Day as a school. Please see the Safety Day schedule below for how it will be structured. Students will receive instructions for how to execute emergency responses from teachers during first and third periods. Students will practice the drills during periods two and four. If you have any questions regarding Safety Day or the drills your student will be participating in, please utilize the questions form below.
Looking forward to seeing our students back in the building on Monday.

Congressional App Challenge (NEW)
Congressmember Jamie Raskin invites your students to participate in the 2024 Congressional App Challenge (CAC). The Congressional App Challenge’s mission is to inspire, include, and innovate efforts around stem, coding, and computer science education. Since its inception in 2015, participation in the challenge has grown exponentially. It is considered the most prestigious prize in student computer science.
For the Challenge, students can use any programming language (example: C, C++, JavaScript, Python, Ruby, “block code,” etc.) and any platform (PC, web, tablet, robot, mobile, etc.). There are NO LIMITS on application theme or topic! The app must have some degree of functionality to be competitive. Once developed, students submit a short video of 1-3 minutes long explaining their app.
Students must be in middle school or high school by October 24th, 2024. They can compete as individuals, or in teams of up to four (4) students. At least half of teammates on any team must live or attend school in Rep. Raskin’s 8th Congressional District. All competing students must be U.S. residents at the time of submission. There is no citizen requirement for students.
The deadline for students to submit their app online is 12:00 p.m. EDT on Wednesday, October 24, 2024.

Hispanic Heritage Month (REPEAT)
Dear Titan Community
Today is the first day of Hispanic/Latinx Heritage Month, and we are excited to celebrate Hispanic and Latinx communities' rich history, culture, and contributions. At our school, where diversity is our strength, this month offers a wonderful opportunity for all of us to learn from one another and honor the vibrant traditions that shape our world.
Why We Celebrate:
Hispanic Heritage Month, from September 15 to October 15, recognizes the achievements of Hispanic Americans who have influenced our country’s history and culture. From the arts and sciences to politics and education, Hispanic individuals have made lasting contributions that continue to shape our society. Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month in a diverse school like ours helps us appreciate the beauty of different cultures and build a stronger, more inclusive community.

How We Can Honor Hispanic Heritage Month:
- Learn and Share: Learn about Hispanic history, culture, and leaders. Share what you learn with friends and family.
- Celebrate the Arts: Enjoy Hispanic and Latinx music, literature, films, and art. Visit cultural exhibits, read books by Hispanic authors, or listen to music from various Hispanic countries.
- Support Hispanic-Owned Businesses: Explore local restaurants, stores, and businesses owned by Hispanic community members.
