Walk, Bike & Roll to School
Thank you to the students, families, and community partners hat came to Walk, Bike & Roll to School! It was a beautiful fall morning with many memories made singing and exercising together.
Arborist Rob Mills presents to Grade 2 students
The first second grade Wit and Wisdom module explores the seasons, trees, and signs of fall. Rob Mills, arborist and owner of Lichen Trees LLC came to speak to the second graders about his job, show them his tools and gear, and speak about how the trees can show us signs of the changing seasons. Thank you so much Mr. Mills and Ms. Rice for this wonderful presentation.
Grade 4 Art with Ms. Castro-Santos
Fourth grade has been studying observational drawing. They learned about the art of "still life" by examining the artwork of the impressionist Paul Cezanne; particularly his paintings of fruit. Students then created their own apple paintings, drawing and painting while looking at real apples, just like a French impressionist!
Happy Autumn!
Grade 5 Art with Ms. Castro-Santos
5th grade artists have also been working on observational skills. They are beginning a watercolor unit and through careful study, they drew a variety of leaves. After outlining their leaves with oil pastels, they experimented with watercolors, creating new color combinations and happy accidents by letting their colors flow and blend.
Happy Fall!
