Matilda Reviews!
"Matilda was absolutely amazing. You could tell the students were having fun and the actors really let their talents show. It was one that I would love to see again and can't wait to see the next musicals that will be put on." -Ms. Hartrich
"I saw Matilda opening night and it was an excellent show. The show was obviously very practiced and was performed at a professional level. Actor/actress coordination and set design were particular highlights. A few very minor technical difficulties did not detract from the experience at all. Kaden Boris (Miss Trunchbull) and Cadence Casey (Miss Honey) were especially good but all the performers did very well. Overall it was a great show, I am excited to see what Chicago is like in the spring!" -Mr. Euscher
"Possibly my favorite play I have seen in my 8 years here at SkyView. An excellent script, beautifully choreographed and flawlessly executed. Matilda herself could have not been better casted. Great job!" -Miss Bybee
"The show was outstanding! I found myself laughing out loud and even crying with laughter. The choreography was great, the singing was spot-on, and everyone's acting was full of heart! Bravo to all involved!" -Mrs. Sharpe
"Another wonderful theater experience! The cast and crew were superb! Ms.Trunchbull and Matilda were amazing." -Mrs. Lloyd
"A fun show with great singing, dancing, acting, costumes, and sets! Everyone's hard work paid off with an amazing show!" -Mrs. Tan
"My daughters and I really enjoyed Matilda! We were SO impressed with everyone, it was a seamless and exciting play! The songs and dances were high energy and fun. Bravo Matilda cast, crew and directors!" -Mrs. Benger
"Our middle and high school production of Matilda the Musical was nothing short of extraordinary! From the moment the curtain rose, the audience was transported into the whimsical and touching world of Matilda Wormwood, brought to life with the remarkable energy, talent, and heart of the entire cast and crew.
True to the old adage, "The show must go on," our thespians rose above the challenges created by the snowstorm and performed one of my all-time favorite shows produced at SkyView Academy.
This production was a testament to our school's collaborative spirit. From the creative direction to the behind-the-scenes magic of the costumes, props, and tech crews, everyone contributed to the magic and wonder of Matilda's journey." -Mrs. Worley

Athletics
High School Boys Soccer
The results for all-conference teams were released this past week, and our HS boys' soccer team brought home quite the hardware. Seniors Brayden Short, Markus Lloyd, Andrew Bieniek, and sophomore Moe Estacio were elected first-team all-conference. Junior Nathan Kamman was also elected to the second team at the conference. Huge congratulations to these five young men for all of their hard work this past season!
Volleyball
High School Volleyball: The HS girls' Volleyball Team got their all-conference team results this past week, and some of our athletes got impressive results. Junior Mei Li Scholl was voted to the first team all-conference, while senior Yamiley Gonzalez was voted as an honorable mention for all-conference! Great job this season to these two ladies, and these awards are well deserved!
Middle School Basketball
Middle School Basketball: The MS Boys Basketball team has had a busy first two weeks of the season, playing a total of five games so far. The season's first game was against Denver Christian, where the A Team lost, but the B and C Teams won. The B Team was powered by the strong offensive performance of 7th grader Jonah Newman, who had 10 points! The C Team put on quite a show in which they won 56-8. The team was led by 6th grader Paxton Jessen, who was everywhere on both offense and defense and hit some really impressive shots off the dribble. The second game of the season was when we hosted North Star Academy, and unfortunately, the A Team lost, but the B Team and C Team won! The B Team won by a final score of 40-11, in which 7th grader Chris Hankins stole the show but played at a very high level on defense, which his defense led to a strong offense where he scored 6 points. The C Team picked up their second win to start the season as they defeated North Star 33-11. They had a great game against a solid team in North Star. The C Team played disciplined basketball and passed the ball well to get a lot of good looks. Charlie Krier was a beast in the middle and got a lot of good looks in close.
The A Team got into the win column against Southeast Christian as they won 39-26. The star of the show was 7th grader Nathan Quintana, who dominated the offensive side with multiple impressive rebounds and tough finishes, finishing with 20 points! The B team also won by a final score of 41-30. The entire team played well as a collective unit, but 7th grader Zach Harker was the perfect facilitator, and he was dribbling and passing through the defense all night. It was quite impressive to witness. The C Team continued their hot start to the season as they defeated Southeast Christian 38-7. Defensively, we turned the team over right out of the gates. Our defensive intensity got us a lot of good looks at the basket, but we just weren't hitting them at as high of a clip as we usually do. Johnny Baldwin hit for 10 points and used some quick, active hands to wreak havoc on the Southeast Christian ball handlers. However, the A and B Teams lost this past Tuesday to Platte River and then this past Thursday to Leman Academy. The C Team also lost very close games to Platte River and Leman Academy. All three levels have away games this Tuesday against Cherry Hills and Wednesday against Denver Christian.
