Patrick Families,

I want to thank you so much for the time you spent meeting with teachers to discuss your children during our parent-teacher conferences this week. This is always a wonderful opportunity to share their progress as we move into the second quarter of the school year.

If you came in through the front doors, you may have noticed a dumpster that has been parked on our property. I am happy to share that after 18 years, Patrick is getting new carpet throughout the school. This is quite an involved process and will take through the Winter Break as we will finish with the media center and our instructional bookroom.

Carpet installation will be done in the evenings and not while students are in the building, but your children may mention that their rooms seem disheveled the day before and the day after as teachers prepare for the overnight work. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we continue our work of teaching and learning, but also accommodate this interruption.

In an effort to protect this long-awaited new carpet, we ask that you only send clear liquids in water bottles moving forward. And we will keep all birthday treats in the cafe to prevent spills and stains on our new floors. Thank you for your help with this.

Welcome to the PES Math Corner! This is a place where you can discover fun activities and helpful resources to support your child's math learning at home. Updates will occur monthly, so be sure to come back next month for exciting new content.

Even though our doors are closing at school, we are still open online! Our Patrick Book Fair will be availabe for the next 12 days to shop. They may have new items that weren't featured at our local fair. You can use your student's eWallet balance and help us earn rewards for our school. So don't delay! Staff, students, families, and Gwinnett community members are invited to review and provide input on proposed instructional resources for select grades and courses in Career and Technical Education and Health (Sex Education).

Before adopting instructional resources for classroom use, Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) holds an extensive review. Multiple committees involving various stakeholder groups reviewed resources submitted by publishers for alignment with the school system’s Academic Knowledge and Skills (AKS) standards. During the ongoing review process, selected resources are piloted in GCPS classrooms. Data from the reviews and pilots will be considered in making adoption recommendations to the Board of Education in 2025.

We are excited to announce our upcoming PTA meeting on November 8th at 8:30 A.M. Your presence is important, as we need at least 15 members to reach a quorum. We look forward to seeing you there and working together to support our school community!

We invite all room parents to attend our upcoming Room Parent Meeting on November 15th, from 8:15 AM to 9:00 AM in the PES Media Center. This meeting is a great opportunity to connect, share ideas, and plan awesome parties and activities for the school year!.
