Parents/Guardians of Bus Riders Please Read
When the buses are running on time they depart Kilgour at 3:49p. If you have students that ride the bus in the afternoon on an inconsistent basis, please be sure that they understand the importance of getting to the gym (bus rider area) as quickly as possible after dismissal. The drivers are getting to know the students and when a student doesn't ride consistently, it makes it difficult for the driver and bus assistants to realize the student is not present. The assumption becomes that they aren't riding on that day. We want to be sure that all bus riders are on the bus and arriving home when expected by their families. Please help us by making sure your students know when they are bus riders.
It is also very important that students learn their route number. We have two routes, 101 and 102. Students should also know their stop. Throughout the year we may have sub drivers or bus assistants and it's very helpful to get the buses out on time when the students can articulate where their stop is.
POSITIVE BEHAVIORAL INTERVENTIONS & SUPPORTS (PBIS)
Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is an evidence-based three-tiered framework for improving and integrating all of the data, systems, and practices affecting student outcomes every day. It is a way to support everyone — especially students with disabilities — to create the kinds of schools where all students are successful.
Kilgour has a PBIS team that meets monthly. Team members are:
- Erin Hans- KDG/Parent
- Robert Cheney - 1st Grade/Building Rep.
- Michelle Lisch - 2nd Grade
- Ravine Park - 3rd Grade/Parent
- Tommy Barker- 4th Grade
- Jake Neidich - 5th Grade
- Stephanie Bisher - 6th Grade/Parent
- Stacy Lunn - School Psychologist
- Sara Kindle - Reading Intervention
- Sarah Hellmann - School Social Worker
- Laura McMullen - Specialist/Parent
- John Linser-Wilder - Intervention Specialist
- Shelley Stein - Vice Principal
- Angela Cook Frazier, Principal
- ALC - TBD
You can review a summary of our 2023-24 data here.

KILGOUR SCHOOL-WIDE ELECTRONIC DIRECTORY
Hello Kilgour Community! We are creating separate grade-level electronic directories to facilitate communication for non-school related events and activities, such as playdates, birthday parties, etc. After the "due date", a link and PDF for each grade-level directory will be shared with folks who opted in.
Important: If you have multiple Kilgour students and are opting in, please fill out one form for each student.
Because this directory is being implemented by fellow parent volunteers, please help us out by doing the following:
- Input each child just one time. This makes cleaning up the excel files less time consuming.
- Enter all information exactly as you'd like it to appear. We will not be able to review all entries and correct typos.
- Understand that the September 8th deadline is firm.
Due Date: September 8th

Thank you!
If you have questions, please email kilgourroomparent@gmail.com

Do you have or know of a local business with a Kilgour connection? Kilgour's PTA's sponsorship program is an easy and effective way to promote your business and support our kids at the same time.
Funds raised by the PTA offset our teachers' out-of-pocket expenses for classroom supplies; subsidize field trips and student clubs; keep Kilgour's grounds mulched, painted, and landscaped; and much more! Please help us identify businesses or families that may be interested in this opportunity by emailing sponsorship@kilgourpta.org.
Thank you, Kilgour Sponsorship
📅 SAVE THE DATE... KILGOUR'S ANNUAL SILENT AUCTION... NOW SEEKING DONATIONS
SEEKING SILENT AUCTION DONATIONS NOW!
WHY: Kilgour receives a smaller portion of funding relative to other CPS schools so our community and families need to fill the gap. The funds raised by the PTA are used for:
teacher purchased classroom needs ($40k!)
after school clubs (funds cut by the district)
field trips and classroom enrichment (Museum on Wheels and STEAM day)
teacher appreciation and professional development, and SO much more.
The silent auction is Kilgour PTA’s biggest annual fundraiser and we’ve found that donations by families of Kilgour raise the most money at the silent auction!
CALLING ALL PARENTS: Think about whether you or someone you know in your network can donate items for the auction. For example:
Own a small business? We can advertise for you as part of your donation!
Do you have season tickets to sports, arts, other events or own a vacation rental home that you are willing to donate?
Know someone who works for sports teams or a restaurant or provides a service? Ask them to donate! If you aren’t comfortable asking people you know for a donation, let us know and we can contact them on your behalf!
Thank you in advance for helping us offer new and exciting auction items this year!
Your Silent Auction Co-Chairs,
Nina Berndsen (K & 3rd grade parent) and Allison Wittenbrook (2nd & 3rd grade parent)
