Extended Learning Programs
February Edition
SCESD's Great Kindness Challenge was the last week of January to continue encouraging all students to be kind in February there will be a Sing Along at all sites on February 14 from 5:15 to 6 pm. Please join your child at their after school program to sing some songs that celebrate kindness and friendship. We are looking forward to hearing everyones voice.
Parent Meetings: We are already preparing for the 25/26 school year and we would like to hear from parents.
- Each after school program will hold an in- person feedback meeting for parents. Please keep an eye out for announcements, parent square, or flyers inviting you to attend this meeting.
- Extended Learning will also hold a virtual meeting for all parents who's child attended any of our programing to meet and share ideas for our 25/26 programming.
We are looking forward to hearing your thoughts.
Safety: Parents this is a great time of year to update you emergency contacts in the school office. Please remember that we can not release students to anyone who is not on your contact list. Be sure your emergency contact lists includes someone who lives close to the school and can arrive promptly to pick up your child. Our District Web Site offers additional information on creating family plans. It is also helpful to have a caregiver authorization on file in the school office.
Sports: Our basketball season is officially underway. Please note that our last Friday basketball game has been rescheduled from February 14 to February 21 to accommodate our After-School Program's Valentine's Day Sing-Along. Check out the schedule below for all the details on our upcoming Friday games! 🏀
If you’re planning to attend any of our Friday games, please remember that it’s important to set a positive example for our students by displaying good sportsmanship and cheering for both teams. Parents who will be joining us at the games are required to complete and submit a Parent Code of Conduct form, which should be turned in to our after school program staff. We’re excited to kick off what promises to be an incredible basketball season!
Field Trip: Saturday, February 22 is our Monterey County First Tee Field Trip. It is currently full and has a wait list. We are thrilled that so many students are eager to participate.
Sunday, March 2 is our Theater Field trip to see Finding Nemo. This is also full.
For both trips updates and information will be sent electronically to families.
Spring Intersession: March 24 to 28, Ag- Knowledge "Planting idea and growing a futures" will focus on technology in agriculture and include sports, art, performing arts and more. Families can help Extended Learning by signing up early, so we can accurately plan for the number of students attending.
