Third Grade Wax Museum
Third grade students recently hosted the annual wax museum. The students spent a great deal of time conducting research with Mrs. Briggs in class, learning to cite their images and sources during library classes with Mrs. Desborough, and creating their posters. The students did an amazing job working on this project, and it was awesome to see them dressed like their characters! The students take so much pride in their work, and it was rewarding to get to see their finished projects. It was wonderful to welcome parents and family members to join us as well!

Order Your CES Yearbook!
PTO Update by Chelsea Szepan and Becca Plue
The end of year is quickly approaching, and the PTO is excited for the various events lined up. May kicks off with Staff Appreciation Week (May 5th-9th) and WE NEED YOUR HELP. Class room parents have been alerted to each grade level's day to help celebrate our staff. Please be sure to pitch in and outreach to your classroom parent or teacher to learn more!
Also on the horizon are the Kona Ice truck for field day, School's Out Summer Raffle, and the PTO Playground Cookout (June 11th). Be sure to mark your calendars and join us for some end of year fun! Our May PTO Meeting will be on May 8th at 6:00 PM in the CES Library. We'd love to see you there as we plan our final events for the year.
One Room School Program - 1930s Kickoff!
Last month, our students experienced the one room school “Kick-Off” Event. This event helped to introduce our students to life in the 1930s. We started the day with a short assembly. The students watched a skit that introduced them to what life was like for hobos during the Great Depression. Throughout the day, students took part in a variety of activities, including playing with games and toys (Bingo was a favorite), trying out Shirley Temple-style dancing, fashion, looking at 1930s artifacts, and more. A very special thank you to Mrs. Gingrich for coordinating this event, and to all of the teachers and volunteers who helped run stations and activities. Our one room school visits to the town center will occur toward the end of May. More information will be coming soon!
Update from Nurse Decker-Gendron
Wellness Week was a great success! The students enjoyed learning some new yoga poses, sampling less familiar fruits and vegetables, trying out their new CES water bottles with fruit-flavored water, engaging in creative learning during Tech-Free Thursday, and dancing to Chameleon Jazzmania Big Band, the winning song from March Music Madness! Thank you again to the CES Advocates (CES PTO) for their support in covering the cost of the food and water bottles.
