This term, Year 7 will continue to develop their Historical skills by applying their knowledge to the Religious Rollercoaster that is the Tudor period. Students will look at how England grew and changed, indeed students will learn why religion was so important in this period through a study of the Reformation and the impact this had on Europe and the wider world. Students will have a chance to master their skills in analysis of interpretations and show which are more convincing and why. Our lessons will guide students in developing their knowledge of the Spanish Armada and Mary Queen of Scots and links to Northamptonshire and then they will apply their knowledge in a Mode 3 Assessment to assess their progress across the year.
Questions:

Students will have the opportunity to master their skills around extended writing, based on looking at a variety of factors and reaching a judgement on the most important whilst at the same time providing evidence to justify this choice. The lessons will guide students in developing their knowledge around why men and women gained the vote and how other groups were created like the Chartists and Luddites to pressure the government into change.
Questions:
1. Why was the Great Reform Act not as great as its name?
2. How did the rise of the Labour party lead to the downfall of the Liberal party and representation for the workers?
