Celebrations from the Month
We have so much to celebrate:
- Our wild Atlantic Salmon have arrived! Our ELKS have been learning about the importance of environmental stewardship.
- The READBowl was a success! Knowlton read a total of 411,227 minutes over the course of the four quarters. What an amazing accomplishment! Also, Ms. Stevens class was recognized as one of the top readers in the United States, placing 53rd overall in week four in our elementary division! Congratulations Ms. Stevens crew!
- The presentation from the USS Midway was incredibly interesting, sparking curiosity and excitement among our students.
- Our ELKS returned from winter break feeling rested and ready to learn, bringing fresh energy into the classroom!

SNACKS, SNACKS, and more SNACKS!
If you are able, please make sure to pack snacks and a water bottle each day for your child. Snack time is provided to all 4th and 5th graders and we need your help in making sure our little ELKS stay hydrated and energized all day.
Memory Number Match
It is important to work out our brains at home, just like we work out our bodies. Try this fun memory number match game with your family! The first to get all 12 wins!!! Challenge each other and see who wins the most rounds! Click here to watch the video on how to play!
USS Midway Visit
Welcome aboard the U.S.S Midway! All 5th grade classes were able to participate thanks to a generous scholarship. During the virtual field trip, students learned about different Navy vocabulary, learned about the different parts of the ship, learned how people use math throughout the ship and even got to ask tons of questions. Students also had to use mental math to figure out questions like, how many pounds of laundry gets washed a week, how many pounds of food gets eaten in a day and in a week, how many airplanes will fit on the U.S.S. Midway (weight wise), and even how many chocolate chip cookies they make. Students had a really fun time putting the books aside and seeing the U.S.S. Midway in sunny San Diego California!
BINGO for Books
BINGO for Books is on the calendar for March!
Please join us for some fun and win some great books
on Wednesday, March 19 from 5:30-6:30 in the ELKS cafeteria.
If you are willing to bring some peanut free snacks to share, we would appreciate it.
