What's Happening in January?
Dr. Isett's Weekly Message
Week of January 27, 2025
Greetings Colts Families and Community,
This past week, Roosevelt students visited River Heights to learn more about the various programs, clubs, activities, electives, and sports available at ERHS. Thank you to the ERHS counselors, teachers, students, and administrators who took the time to meet with our students and answer their questions about transitioning to high school. The lunchtime activities hosted by ERHS student leaders helped our 8th graders feel more at ease as they prepare for the next chapter in their educational journey.
Just as we support our middle schoolers transitioning to high school, we are equally excited to welcome our incoming 7th graders to River Heights! In February, we will begin hosting events where current 6th graders can explore the many programs, clubs, activities, and sports available at our school. Students will also have the opportunity to take a guided tour of the campus. Additional information will be sent to feeder elementary schools and families in the coming weeks.
Lastly, at River Heights, we are committed to creating a learning environment where every student feels valued, respected, and supported. Our top priority is ensuring that all students have access to a high-quality education in a safe and welcoming environment. For additional details, please refer to the message from Dr. Buenrostro, Superintendent of the Corona-Norco Unified School District.
Warm regards,
Eva Isett, Ed. D.
Principal

RHIS Counseling
A message from our counseling team
We are sure that your students came home with a lot of information and even more questions after the extremely busy Roosevelt Rush. Please reach out to Mrs. B. with questions you have so she may help support you as you begin to plan for your student’s freshman year.
7th grade students had a wonderful time setting their intentions and centering themselves for the year ahead. All agreed that it was a worthwhile experience that brought them calming!
Looking ahead, Backpack Cleanout is this Wednesday, January 29! We’d love your student to attend this opportunity to organize and earn PBIS points.
Academic Support
Academic Support with Paraeducators
Families, if your student is on an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) and you would like your student to receive additional academic support on Wednesdays, please reach out to your case carrier and encourage your Colt to stay after school in the library on Wednesdays to receive homework support from 1:30-2:30 PM.

School Safety & Security
See something, say something
At River Heights, the safety and well-being of our students, staff, and community are our top priority. Students, if you witness or experience bullying, threats, or suspicious behavior, report it to a trusted adult. Parents, stay engaged by talking to your children about their school experiences, monitoring online activities, and reporting concerns.
Together, we can ensure our school remains a safe, secure, and supportive environment for everyone. Thank you for your continued vigilance and partnership in this effort.
Witness Statement
We take allegations of bullying and harassment seriously. Please have your student complete a witness statement if they have something to report. If it is an urgent matter, please call the front office at (951) 738-2155, if it is an emergency, please call 911.
