We have a short but busy week ahead with just two days of school before our Thanksgiving break. There will be no school for students November 27-29. We hope you enjoy this time with family and friends!


Parent Advisory Recap

Thank you to all the families who joined us for our recent Parent Advisory meeting about supporting student learning at home. If you couldn’t make it, you can check out the presentation slides here. We appreciate your continued involvement in your child’s education!


Math Fact Fluency

Fact fluency is a crucial skill for mastering 5th and 6th-grade math concepts, and many of our students could use extra practice in this area. Over the break, consider setting aside a little time to work on math facts at home.


All students have access to the program Reflex, which they use at school and can also use at home for extra practice. Below is an image with additional ideas for practicing math facts in fun and engaging ways. A little bit of practice can go a long way in building confidence and skills!


Lost and Found

As the weather gets colder, we’ve noticed more coats being left behind around the building and outside. Items collected are placed in the lost and found located in both the 5/6 gym and the 7/8 gym. Adding names to coats and other belongings helps us return items to their owners. If your child is missing something, please encourage them to check during the school day.


Thanksgiving Wishes

We hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving break filled with rest, gratitude, and time with loved ones. We look forward to seeing everyone back at school on Monday, December 2nd.

3. PARENT RESOURCES πŸ€—

Our SEL curriculum is currently focusing on teaching students about self-management. It is important to pay attention to your child's behavior. Your child may not always communicate their feelings, but their actions and behaviors may offer clues. For example, if you notice your child gets stressed or acts out on days they have tests, sports practice, or music lessons, it means your child feels more pressure in these situations than you knew. Noting possible causes of their stress or other emotions can help you find ways to help them manage those feelings.
